They're so confident in Prescott that they won't give the young "great" QB the contract he wants. Yet, they gave an aging and injury prone Romo a contract.

This says a lot more than any of the babble that comes out of Jerry and Stephen. They aren't confident in what they have in Prescott.

He's not going to holdout when he'll be getting close to 30 million. However, people are insane if they think we can tag him twice and he'll wait until he's 28 for his second contract in the league.

he will holdout, they said the same thing about Bell, and Bell wasn’t making anything close to Dak in endorsements

They just want Dak at reasonable contrast. If they were not confident in him they would get a better backup then Cooper Rush.

Certainly not a suprise to me since I said before, Dallas will sign Cooper and franchise Dak
The tag will likely be around 33 if I’m not mistaken. How much could he possibly want? I think you’re right they sign coop and franchise Dak

We don't have a better QB behind Prescott because we haven't valued the backup QB position for quite some time.

You don't do this with a franchise QB, you take that hit. The most logical thing here is that Dak is waiting for the Mahomes contract, which will probably be an historic QB contract. We'll franchise Dak and continue contract talks from there.

Cowboys better have a backup plan at QB
a FT and holdout threat is a silver lining it will force Jerry and MM to get a higher quality backup just in case, so even if he does report before the first game we have a better option then Rush backing him up...maybe even draft another Qb around 4 like a Jhurts..

kind of like Zeke holdout threat, we gained Pollard over a smith type....

Yes they play different positions, But Dak has already stated clearly that he will not be in training camp is no deal is reached..

Directly from Dak? Can you link me to this or was this a "rumor"? I very highly doubt this is the case. Because with this news from Schefter, that would add even more to my point that they aren't confident in Dak and OK with moving on.
