I guess tomorrow there will be a flood of news articles justifying this decision. The game said it all.

That's fine. Just don't try selling us that we're serious about a significant playoff run.

This season, all the innuendo around the team suggested coaches and personnel would be evaluated based on playoff results. Even going into the playoffs, Jerry himself said "we'll see how each playoff game goes" when asked specifically about McCarthy's future.

Bull feathers.

We're perfectly content where we are. And don't pretend otherwise.

I hope him and his idiot son sink in their yacht. They've completely destroyed any chance of this franchise truly competing for a championship. I don't hate Mike McCarthy, but I know wholesale changes are necessary.

And go down with the ship.

Surprising amount of restraint from Jerry. 20 years ago he’d have burned the facility to the ground after a loss like that and gone on a drunken rant on the radio before firing the coach live on air.
Not really. Campo had 3 straight 5-11 seasons. Garrett went 8-8 his first 3 years and kept coming back.

Mike is under contract for another year. Jerry is all about the money and isn't going to pay 2 coaches at the same time. Simple as that.

I'm so disappointed. Seriously, how could you see how your team lost last weekend and think to run it back again? In an off-season when Bill Belichick is out there.

That 100% just took the air out of my sails for next season.

Smart move tbh, just figure out the D and run this again. Next season will be MM last stand.

I believe this is the most logically approach, but man. There are some good HC's on the market right now.

Only concern is how they will shore up the DC position. I doubt anyone will come here where the HC is a lame duck.
