I don’t see why anyone would think there’s a good shot of a deal getting done.

Mike wants real money, and Jerry doesn’t want to pay it. Is there a middle? Tough to say when there’s interest from other teams.

I’d put it at about 40% he returns based on logic, but at 100% that the idiot twins screw it up one way or the other so it doesn’t much matter.

If you don't want McCarthy, cool. Say it. Then get to the business of lining up interviews with potential candidates.

If you want him back, get a deal in place and get to the business of filling out his staff.

Make decisive moves this offseason, please! Stop dragging things out for more "likes" and "follows" in the news cycle, Jerry.

Agreed. I really don't see how these two sides could come together.

Jerry likely wants a short term, 2 year deal laden with incentives (so he doesn't have to fire Mike and keep paying him). Plus, he likely wants coaching changes.

Mike, rightfully so, probably wants a longer term deal, likely doesn't want to change his coaching staff, knows that no other team will be offering incentives, and probably wants the front office to invest in the team instead of shopping at the thrift store.

The only way through, from my perspective, would be for Jerry to cave and give Mike what he wants (which he typically does in every negotiation anyways). But I don't see it, considering that would require Jerry to relinquish some control over the team and the coaches.

End of deal is 3 days away. If they haven't talked about a deal yet, then that's a pretty tight window to hammer out a lot of important details.

let's delay and delay, SECRETLY maybe they're interviewing/calling around about coaches

I hear what you’re saying.

But they are saying otherwise.

- Making McCarthy’s contract expire late so they can negotiate
- Denying Chicago a chance to interview
- Bringing in zero candidates to interview

I agree with Mike wanting real money and Jerry wanting to be cheap!!!!

I'm thinking Jerry is going to force him to change some assistants, especially offensive line etc. If he offers him a spot at all.
Same crap with Garrett who was told he could no longer call the offense. If that happens, I will not have much interest or faith in another season. Jerry needs to realize what 90% of the fans do - time to change the GM and Front Office. That classic definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting results. Men and their egos. Time to move on Jerry, I know you love the game and the franchise and unfortunately the spotlight but it just ain’t working dude. Unless you have another Parcells or Jimmy to steer the ship, we’re headed for more Playoff teases.

Very much agree, but Jerry caves to players, not necessarily to coaches. It’ll be interesting but I’d call it far from a slam dunk that he returns.

Don’t discount Jerry being in some variation of ‘cut off your nose to spite your face’ mode.

He probably thinks he deserves a discount because they didn’t win, meanwhile at least part of the reason was being short on personnel.

They didn’t sign one single significant FA during the entire time he was here. If I’m Mike, this negotiation is about more than money.
