Schefter: No substantial discussions regarding future contract

If there's a permission denial of talks of McCarthy to Bears, then i can see a will to re-sign McCarthy by Jerry, ..

but i do wonder if it's about both incentives based contract - and a condition of change about play calling, change of certain asst. coaches.
i even expect the Jones to have a say of who stays and who goes among McCathy's staff, .and who'd be their preferred DC pending Zimmer departure.
1 - Incentive based new contract
2 - Play Calling change role
3 - who stays or goes among asst. coaches

Time to post your daily Jerry Jones/McCarthy calendar @DallasEast :muttley:

I post them the day after each date. It is only fair that I give Jerry Jones the benefit of the doubt from midnight to midnight. :p

Like I been saying, if we didn't want him last season, thus extend him and the staff, why on Earth, after a bad year, would we SUDDENLY want him? Jerry never intended on signing him to a new deal. He's just enjoying making him sweat. This latest report makes my case valid. I'd be shocked if anything got done.

I think people should stop assuming that Jerry and his family are in it to win football games. That is clearly not a priority.
We will find out soon, if they do the deals with Parsons, Dak, Lamb, and sign some free agents in March.

If you don't want McCarthy, cool. Say it. Then get to the business of lining up interviews with potential candidates.

If you want him back, get a deal in place and get to the business of filling out his staff.

Make decisive moves this offseason, please! Stop dragging things out for more "likes" and "follows" in the news cycle, Jerry.
You do realize that exactly zero teams have signed a HC contract this off season, right?

So, this continued nonsense about publicity is just a fan invention. The Cowboys are actually releasing far less teases and leaks than any of the other teams with HC questions.

I agree. We all say that Jerry is doing this strategically, but the only people who give a **** are fans like us. Other football fans, casual football fans don't care about the Dallas HC opening any more than they care about the opening in Jacksonville.

The reason Jerry is doing this so late in the game, and so haphazardly, is because he's incompetent.

I mean, the Bears and Patriots are leaking stories daily. But no news from the Cowboys front office is somehow “clickbait”.

Lol

....Big Mike wants to stay in Dallas. He's treated well here. Has his own football show..lol..

Im sure they'll come up with agreements to make it work.

I hear what you’re saying.

But they are saying otherwise.

- Making McCarthy’s contract expire late so they can negotiate
- Denying Chicago a chance to interview
- Bringing in zero candidates to interview

I agree with Mike wanting real money and Jerry wanting to be cheap!!!!
Maybe JJ knows he has Kellen Moore in the bag.

I used to think that too, but Bobby Belt was saying that Moore left on bad terms and there'd need to be some fence-mending from JJ.

I'd think JJ has someone in the bag that no one else wants, and that's why there's no rush.

Like Gruden, unfortunately.

I have a very good friend of mine who has connections to the Jets he says McCarthy is going to be going to be the head coach w Rodger’s.
Roger’s contract is up tho isn’t it? What then? McCarthy going to break in a new QB? That’s going to be on the docket in the next 5 years anyway for NYJ.

It will be fun to see how it unfolds if no jobs are filled by the time Mike is free.... Jerry panic is always fun

The Bears have signaled they want to talk to McCarthy, and some media are reporting the Bears are very interesting in signing McCarthy. I am certain McCarthy is fully aware of his market. Why would he agree to any deal before hearing from the other interested teams. If Jerry low-balls Mike, and Chicago offers him a kings ransom and greater control, why would McCarthy stay for the circus act?
