Never loses suction!!
Bleu Star;3014924 said:From now on I will only refer to him as Coach Hoover.
stasheroo;3014916 said:Maybe as a #4 receiver, not as a #2. I don't "hate" him for being what he is - average. I more "hate" the fact that having an average receiver at #2 is often-times a detriment to the passing game.
dbair1967;3014926 said:He'd be a solid #3 for just about any team in football, which is probably what he'll become here now. He runs good routes and has good hands, and he makes YAC. He also gets 1st downs at a high rate.
He's on a pace to catch about 45-50 balls this yr, and thats with the probs Romo had the first month of the season.
He's a small school QB drafted in the 7th rd, who turned him self into a solid NFL contributor. I've always liked him. We need more players like that.

Hoofbite;3014660 said:Not having something and not using your best player are totally different.
Newman is more than capable at returning punts and Felix should be returning kicks.
Its knee jerk because its uncharacteristic of Crayton to drop the punts which means he's probably not going to do it as often as replacing him would suggest.
I just think its a cruddy move. I don't think Rossum will do any better than Newman or Felix would. Of course, now that I say that the guy will probably score ever week on returns.
AsthmaField;3014694 said:KO is perfect for a slot receiver with his build and his quickness. He showed in the preseason that Romo can trust him.

Chris in SoCal;3014862 said:assuming everyone is healthy, my guess for the inactive list is:
1. Stephen McGee QB
2. Kevin Ogletree WR
3. Montrae Holland G
4. Duke Preston C
5. Pat McQuistan T
6. Curtis Johnson or Victor Butler OLB
7. Jason Williams ILB
8. Ken Hamlin S (wishful thinking)
you guys are right, tough to pick the 45 active, especially when we now have 5 spots dedicated to Special Teamers.

CATCH17;3015068 said:He's gotta be better than Crayton so thats all we need to know.
A 15 to 20 yard return may happen once every 2 or 3 games now.

Hoofbite;3015151 said:FWIW Crayton is averaging more per return.
stasheroo;3015159 said:Let's give Rossum 5 games with the same special teams and then compare numbers.
That sound fair?
dbair1967;3015153 said:I'm not either, guess we'll see how it works. Maybe he will surprise us.
I had forgot the connection to DeCamillis, if he really was behind this it may work out ok.
LIke I said previously, if he catches them all and makes positive yards I'm fine with it, because I believe taking that responsibility away from Crayton may help improve him in the passing offense. They can have him devote almost all his practice time on offense now.
