Adam_Schefter Filed to ESPN: The Cowboys will sign veteran returner Allen Rossum, whom the 49ers released last week to make room for Michael Crabtree.

Is this dude any good?Didnt he play for the Stillers?

Nice, im sick and tired of Crayton back there. He doesnt have the speed to be a returner. Only reason he was back there was because he would always catch it, and now he lost that too..stick to the slot Crayton...

lol he's back there because he has sure hands. He can't even do that right!

Good kick return a few years back.

Nothing to smile about. But no one was getting the job done back there anyway.

Any good? He has the 2nd most return yards in NFL history with 14,987 yards. 33 years old though.

I like this move for two reasons:

1. It gives us a legit threat at punt returner to take it to the house

2. It sends a message to the team that if you SCREW up like Crayton did last week, your job will be on the line. Great message and signing.

No offense, but I did say that in my post.:

I don't care who's back there returning punts, it can be Flozel Adams for all I care, as long as they get the job done.

lol ;)

Well, he's sucked this season with the 49ers, to put it mildly. :(

His return averages on punts and K.O.s have been worse than anyone on our roster.

7.0 yards per return this year, while Crayton was averaging 8.

Crayton also had 2 fumbles, while Rossum had 0.

Rossum was averaging 21.7 per KR, lower than M. Austin, F. Jones and and KO.

Has he fumbled? And his average might relate to SF not having a very good ST unit, which I don't know if they do or not. We have a pretty good ST unit imo.
