Heis a rookie on a bad defense. Give him a few years. Not every player can combine and make a difference right away.

yes, actually they can and have.

Its not just coaching, its where does the team want to be and who uses their resources the best. Not saying Downs cant, let me be real clear, Jerry doesnt care, Jerry will sell the image, Downs is a good player on a team where the owner DOESNT CARE. That affects the franchise. If Parker cared, he wouldnt have signed on, he knows its more about what Jerry wants than where the players need to be.

If you are still unclear about this, and i know a lot are, so see DeMarcus Ware and where he ended up. There are players, even older who go and excel once they are out of Dallas. Not all, but a good number sign with teams and reach their potential.

Jerry Jones DOES NOT keep this a secret, HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT WINNING. Sell the image, keep the fans invested keep the sports shows talking.

And Diggs. And fixing to be Porter and Pickens. Jerry loves to pay CBs and WRs. And CBs and WRs don't win super bowls. Or rather they are not the primary assets that win super bowls. Almost every year the teams w/ the best DTs appear in the super bowl, but most don't want to hear it and would rather promote those follow the ball players.
We have discussed this many times. Imagine if the Cowboys had used free agency to bring in two good free agent defensive tackles to go along with Parsons and Tank during the Quinn years. I believe we would have challenged the Eagles, Tampa, Rams, and 49ers. The Cowboys were not far away and that is what is frustrating.

What was our epa on defense in his playoff games? Let's see how you dodge and deflect.
Who is dodging?

You mean the playoff game where the D gave up 19 points and the offense didnt show up?

What you guys who like to parrot what Jerry says dont realize is Micah was carrying the entire team on that side of the ball.

You get to the playoffs, yeah, others should be able to step up, for some reason, no one did. Why is that?

So when Dak fails, its the teams fault, when Micahs numbers dip because hes literally carrying the D on his back all year, its HIS fault.

Funny how that works.

How was his rookie year compared to Malachi?

Yall can keep trying to do this, you will lose every time.

Micah was a GENERATIONAL talent. And Jerrys ego got hurt, so he turned you guys against Micah.

Want proof.

Ok.

When Micah asked for more money. Yall were saying "where is the hometown discount he offered"

You forget that he said he would take less money "IF" Jerry was going to use it.

Jerry brought in Zeke and did nothing in FA that year.

So, Micah did what ANY player would do and asked for the maximum.

For some reason our FO couldnt figure out how to sign their best player long term but GB did it, in a way that literally didnt hurt them at all.

Look at this from an unbiased point of view. For once.

What was the epa phil

don't prove my point by dodging direct questions like kwyn and his kind. Be better than that

2021 Wild Card vs 49ers (L 17-23)
One advanced box (nfelo) shows the Cowboys’ overall game EPA/Play at roughly -0.13. The defense allowed 341 yards and 23 points on a day when the unit was not dominant.

2022 Wild Card @ Buccaneers (W 31-14)
Defense played well enough to keep Tampa to 14 points. No precise EPA/play figure surfaced in public tracking, but it was clearly one of the better defensive showings of the four games.

2022 Divisional @ 49ers (L 12-19)
Again, no clean public EPA/play number. The defense held San Francisco to 19 but couldn’t generate enough stops or takeaways in a low-scoring game.

2023 Wild Card vs Packers (L 32-48)
This one was a disaster. Through three quarters the Packers ran successful plays (positive EPA) on 61% of snaps, one of the worst defensive success-rate performances by any team that season. That equates to very poor defensive EPA.

Not dodging anything the number isnt available at least I cant find it.

Now lets do this.

Whats the current defenses EPA in the playoffs since Micah was traded?

Thanks for answering. We both know the epa in all of the games except the fake Tampa win in which Dak coincidentally played great in as well was below the top rank you keep bringing up.

But to answer your question....there is no epa as they haven't made the playoffs. If you want to say it's because he's not here even though he was here in 2024 when we missed the playoffs be my guest.

But atleast you answer directly like a man.

He missed weeks during 2024.

The D even with old man Zimmer looked MARKEDLY better when Parsons came back.

I swear, you guys will do anything to destroy a former player you are mad at.

The fact is, on the field, we havent replaced what Parsons brought. Regular season or Playoffs.

Will I argue that his run D numbers would have been better in a 3-4? Yes. Mainly because I watched him in College and he single handedly took over the Cotton Bowl.

Why cant we just admit, we lost the trade AS IT STANDS RIGHT NOW. When you trade someone like Parsons, its to get better, we have gotten worse in every aspect of our defense.

The only variable is with parsons and without.

I have no issues with you. You didn't duck and dodge and deflect. Actually answered my question even though you didnt provide the evidence as you said its not available. I could get more into the 2024 thing but no need. I got no beef with you.

Everyone, including the Cowboys knew the pass rush was losing something, but we couldn’t beat good teams or win in the playoffs with Parsons, so what’s the big deal. We had the ball run down our throats then, and that hasn’t changed. Let’s not pretend we would be winning if we had simply kept Parsons. Our team would not have QWilliams, Clark, and maybe no one else in free agency, so we would still stink. At least we have the chance to build on what we have.

The problem with it was you traded the only player that could make a play on D. The one they game planned around. In my opinion I thing QW is, while a really good player, use to losing so he has a loser mentality. Jets and now our D is as bad as it gets so I get it.

I think the D misses DQ more than any of the players we lost.
Yet the defense always collapsed vs good teams and in the playoffs then too. Our defense has been our Achilles heel for a long time.

as had an Owner who goes with bad coaches OR keeps good coaching in a bad situation.

I hate to call this a winner or a loser. No question we missed his play on the field but he is simply not wired to be the type of leader you expect from the highest-paid defensive player. His behavior and personality can be toxic, especially when things aren't going right. This is from one of his strongest supporters........but it's hard to say whether we are better off as a team.

What the Cowboys-Packers Micah Parsons trade means a year later

Not only that, he's undersized, not good at stopping the run. And at this point in his career, injury prone
