I looked at the interior defensive lines for all the playoff teams.

The highest paid DT for Dallas is Mazi Smith at $3.6 million. His annual average salary is $3.3 million.

Of all the playoff teams only the Chargers, Texans and Rams have their highest paid DT making less or the same as Mazi. The Rams have 2 DTs on their rookie deals who are playing very well.

Washington has Allen and Payne whose combined APY is $40 million.

The Eagles have Carter and Davis on rookie deals for $5.9 million and $5.4 million respectively.

The Vikings had Harrison Phillips at $7.5 million.

Chiefs have Chris Jones at $31.75 million.

Lions have Alim McNeill ($24.25 million) and DJ Reader ($11 million)

Packers have Kenny Clark at $21.3 million.

The Bills pay Ed Oliver $17 million.

The Ravens have Justin Madubuike makes $24.25 million APY.

The Bucs have Vita Vea at $17.75 million.

The Bronco Zack Allen makes $15.25 million

And the Steelers have Cam Heyward ($14.5 million) and Larry Ogunjobi at $9.58 million.

As I posted in another thread the Cowboys total CAP spend on DTs in 2024 was under $10 million.

I would also point out that teams like the Chargers have two exceptional outside pass rushers. So do the Vikings. The Rams have an exceptional rookie Edge playing in Verse but both DTs are young and will get paid.

When you look at the teams that are winning these playoff games you have to notice it is not just the offenses that are getting it done (or not getting in done in the case of the losers) it is the defenses. Even Tamp would not be in the playoffs if not for Vea and Kancey (who is starting to look a lot like Aaron Donald).

In my humble opinion, Dallas will never win a championship of get to a NFC championship game until they take the DT positions a lot more seriously.

Many said Barkley was washed and Philly was wasting their time with him lol. Saw the same for Derrick Henry. Nah, the teams they were on were trash and they were being wasted there. Both of these guys took these teams to another level they didn't have last year. Barkley and Henry on any given carry can take it for 6, anywhere on the field.

Eagles are very proactive in roster building. They know how to balance the present and future but mainly play for the present. Building for years down the line in this sport is a loser's game. You can always move money around to sign whomever you want. Many teams have proven this. Don't believe the lies the Jones' say when they say money is tight.

This is a pain that I'm really getting tired of tolerating.
The Philadelphia eagles are just schooling us on how to build a team. Is Jalen hurts really that much better than DAk he certainly more athletic now but the eagles decided to give him a running game.
We gave Dak a worn out Zeke and refused to play the better player in Rico until it was too late.
Eagles lost Kelce replaced him and still kept a very strong offensive line.
We replaced our offensive line with rookies that hadn't even put on their man weight yet and expected to be successful who does this???

The eagles followed the trend many teams now have an athletic quarterback that can run along with a power running game.

We have a quarterback who's mobility has been cut in half and have no running game to start the season.
The eagles are playing chess and we aren't even able to play checkers in comparison we play Tic-Tac-Toe in the dirt with a stick.

There is absolutely no way to compete in a Super bowl using Jerry's team building methods imo
We are the most financially successful dysfunctionally constructed team I have ever witnessed

What are your thoughts
your post is flawed !! There is no "we" or "Us" replace those with "the jones boys" and then it makes sense.

And yes Phil is schooling the jones boys bigtime. Dallas GM is like a little kid ,Phil GM runs circles around jerry.

How many more threads do we need celebrating Philly and Washington?

Well we're just trying to make the undercover trolls of those teams who pretend to be Cowboys fans and post the dumbest, uniformed bull **** here, feel comfortable.

These low IQ clowns are protected like an endangered species around here which is comical and a complete joke.

Beats 7 threads dissecting Jerry’s most recent nonsensical press conference. Not a lot happening until the combine; this is something at least

Yep, it's a shame the FA class is so poor, you need to look at veteran presence in the lines (and preferably players that have experience of other organisation's).
As we're saying, the Jones don't much care about the foundations.

Yep, Henry and Barkley were attracted, in part, by two solid O-Lines.

Please tell us all something that we don't already know............ The Eagles aren't the only organization schooling the Cowboys, Washington appears to have found the secret ingredient to a successful team and the Giants may not be that far behind in the race either, but the Cowboys are that ship without a rudder and signing Prescott to that outrageous contract is going to sting for a few more years.............

They are just a way, way, way better run organization, with focused offseason plans and have been elite at building their roster with dudes. Instead of just plugging holes, they build competitive depth at impact positions.

No he is not.......but the margin closes really fast if you have TWO elite WRs, 2000 yard RB and a top Oline. It's not hard to see.....
You are kidding right? You obviously don't get it. Failure is an option in Dallas. It isn't in Philly. Roseman is what is keeping the distance open because he has to win to keep his job. You have seen your last post season success as long as Jerry is breathing.

The response was to a poster asking if Hurts was that much better than Dak......

Until they fix the trenches they've got nothing,,, it's all smoke and mirrors and finesse,,, Garrett built a nice OL while he was here, so Jerry can be talked into it theoretically, but I'd say the norm for him is to undervalue the trenches and the defense in general.
Trenches don't sell jerseys.

Eagles were sleepwalking through their playoff game yesterday vs. the Packers and still won easily. Pretty much the same Packers team that embarrassed the Cowboys a year ago except Josh Jacobs is probably even better than Aaron Jones. Just imagine what Jacobs would have done :omg:

We have a senile egomaniac as an owner that thinks there's nobody else capable of running his football team....despite 30 years of failure

If Jerry bought the Eagles...he'd probably pretty quickly fire Howie Roseman, because despite Roseman obviously running circles around Jerry, Jerry would want to call the shots.

He's infantile. The only hope is that when Jerry dies, his idiot son is at least sensible enough to realize he's a big dope and he just hire someone else to run the team. But frankly, I think Daddy has just indoctrinated him to think The Jones' know best.
I agree brother I see no light at the end of the tunnel there is way too much Jones DNA left to keep this team in a dysfunctional shambles.
I see cap boy following in his Father's footsteps maybe being even cheaper
