I’m neutral on Schotty but I respect the hell out of anyone that is willing to admit they made a mistake. There are certain egos (coaches and owners, especially one on this site) that will always refuse to admit they were wrong. People like that are idiots because instead of learning and acknowledging their mistakes they just keep doing it over and over over again.

I wish someone would counsel Schottenheimer about interacting with the media. Maybe Bill Belichick could give him some pointers?

There is little reason to keep explaining all your coaching decisions to the media. No points will be awarded that will boost your job security. Just nudge the conversation on to Washington and be done with it.

That was my first take. He really IS that naive...poor baby. "Everything you say can and will be used against you."

Unfortunately Schotty is the opposite of his father. Marty was not good with brown nosing but was a tough no nonsense coach. I remember he coached Washington for that one season and made them a tough team. He didn’t play the games with Snyder and he got fired. Marty’s KC and Cleveland teams were always tough minded football teams that kept running in Elway unfortunately.

It's the rare man who had a sheltered upbringing who can lead men. Jason Garrett had the same problem. Bill Parcells and Jimmy Johnson were guys you couldn't put one over and they were street smart. No Schott...comes off like a mark to me.

Schottenheimer can admit his and his coaches mistakes all he wants, it still doesn't change the fact they committed so many of them starting with the first play.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh and his coaches did the opposite.

Clearly, the Cowboys have worst coaches. That's becoming evident. Stop talking and start coaching better. This should have been cleaned up and fixed since preseason. What's it going to take? Another month or two to start making the right calls? The season will be over and done by then.

Hey, I was a few years later. I have certainly distanced myself from their results & accepted a lot of the organizational disfunction as probably never going to get fixed. They are certainly not the symbol of excellence that originally attracted me.

Narcissists can be geniuses. As for as professional football team management is concern, Jerry Jones has lived outside that particular fraternity his entire life.

You know it's funny, I really didn't understand the true meaning of Narcissist or Narcissism until I recently. I got married a few years ago to my high school sweetheart and she actually explained to me what it meant to be a Narcissist because she was raised by one in her father, she said she seeked out people like that as a younger women as potential mates because that is all she knew before she fixed and changed her views and ways of loving her own self... The reason I'm bringing this up is because I have a very clear view now on the difference between an ego maniac and a Narcissist.

A Narcissist, surrounds themselves with people who feed off of their manipulation, or view them as something unworldly special. They could never look themselves in the mirror and be honest about who they really are because in most cases it would wreck them beyond repair. One way to get rid of a Narcissist is call them out on the BS and challenge them, if you do that, they have no use for you...

I believe from viewing Jerry over the years he suffers from extreme Narcissism and surrounded by players and people that accept it. He has no reason to fix these issues, he is getting the attention he needs to sustain his character flaws. I think the makes all of this so hard is weak people need Narcissist, they make them feel important, so in reality it's a sick little world where these people band together. It's only in this world these people feel safe...

Yes, he is sadistically sad, and I believe this comes from energy he puts out into the universe. I'm not buying any of it.. My father owned a bunch of tote the note car lots when I was a kid, and he taught me early on how to smell BS, plus I was around some of the craziest salesman you could ever possibly meet back in the 70's.. Jerry, is and has been a lost cause for a long time, he will paying for his actions until his last breath.

Exactly! What's he talking about? First play was a run. Not a big gain but a running play. 4th play was his big mistake. Giving up possession and momentum to an angry Giants team and crowd simply because he wasn't confident his BAZILLION DOLLAR offensive unit could gain 6 inches.
