I’ve been pretty lukewarm on everything Cowboys since they have decided to back up the Brinks truck for Dak. Can’t remember being this negative about the Cowboys ever. But the more that I look at the Schotty hire, the more I wonder if he might have actually been a really solid hire.

Dak sucks. Actually Dak sucks really bad. But if Schotty builds a running attack like his dad did, then Dak can pretty much just hand off the ball, looks stupid, collect his checks, smoke cigarettes on the sidelines and talk about all the wins in which he wasn’t really a factor.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been so jaded by the disappointments of the last 25 years that I usually throw shade at Jerry every chance I get. I was very upset when we hired Schotty. Like really upset. Dave Campo upset. I felt it was Dave Campo 2.0. And it still might be. But on the eve of the draft the Schotty hire is starting to grow on me. I like the talk of improving the culture. I’ve been a stickler on that for years. And even if it’s “just talk” the fact the organization is even acknowledging it is a good thing. IMHO the acknowledgment of a culture problem is a huge step forward for this franchise. Now it can be debated if it can be fixed or not but I feel a step in the right direction has been made. For that reason the Schotty hire is growing on me.

I’m looking forward to preseason for other baby steps but the hire is growing on me as of today. Hopefully tomorrow is a good day for us with the draft.

Bookmarked. DC would have been better off with me. Guy is a loser living off dad's name.

And people wonder why Dallas fans are hated more than the team.......

Jerry can fill a 55-gallon drum full of horse crap and some, like the OP, will happily eat every last bit of it like it's a barrel full of ice cream.

The other step child
He talks the talk, but I've seen a 100 of those in the NFL lasting for about 1 to 2 seasons.
I have seen it actually work once or twice, but usually coaches who have "it" rise up fast, land in the NFL, stay in the NFL. In a handful of years or less, they make it to head coach.
There's a reason lifelong assistants. Stay lifelong assistants, LOL.
He's going to be Jason Garrett part II
Talks the talk, knows all the correct sentences, but is not a leader of men..
I REALLY DO HOPE I'M WRONG.

I mean what else do we have to lose, I'm feeling it too. However I do want to see him in practices and in a game to see what kind of temperament he has

Jerry thanks you for your blind support of his decision.

After all, it’s fans like you that make him believe it’s okay to sign Dak and hire a nobody like Schottenheimer as the HC.

I would like to argue with you on that, but in all the years of coaching in college and the NFL, the guy isn't really proving you wrong.

Seems like he's a guy that's been taken care of due to his last name and not for what he has actually accomplished.

He's a perfect fit for Jerry.

Thought it was a bad hire then. Jerry wants control and authority. A first year head coach will give up both.

I’d love to be proven wrong but the fact is there were much better options available.

Look, I've come around as well. As a leader, he's got what it takes. My question is and always has been--playcalling. That still worries me.
