I certainly like the talk, but we've heard McCarthy talk a good game and do the opposite. Shotty is a guy I believe will do what he says. The coaching hires is what I like about this team, as I believe they finally got some guys that can develop these young players. No predictions, but a wait n see approach, however, I like the start of his tenure and let's see how this draft shakes out.

This team has been testing our patience since the VCR era. Maybe.....just maybe.....after 30 years of the same results, some of us have every right to be skeptical. There's no real evidence that this hire is the one to turn things around. We're allowed to judge it accordingly until proven otherwise.

I said all along I will give him and the new coaches and schemes a chance. Not expecting any miracles this season.
But it makes it more exciting going into TC to see what unfolds.

He won’t be given the horses by this inept front office whose only plan is to collect players and hope for some stars to market.

A bad year for people who judge everything by absolute records and deep playoff runs, yes.

I hope there are enough sensible people out there who realize that a coach can only try to maximize the roster he's given... but they're probably in the minority.

I neither love nor hate the Schotty hire. As a fan of the Cowboys, I want him to succeed. If I’m being as objective as I can, I have serious doubts about him (or any HC) succeeding here, as the previous 6 head coaches before him have 4 wild card wins between them.

But he deserves a chance to prove himself. I will wish him well and hope for the best. Not putting any money down on his success though, lol.

To be honest…I don’t really know what to think of the Shotty hire…i don’t know how a journeyman OC has flown under the NFL head coaching radar all these years and now all of a sudden is thrust into the HC role because he emphasizes communication and gives the FO the warm and fuzzies.
I don’t know that Jerry would hire a coach he couldn’t control; he hasn’t done that since BP, whom Jerry forced TO onto the roster.
Shotty is a bit more polished than McCarthy, but hopefully he and his staff can do the job; wonder how much latitude Jerry will give him.
The bar is set pretty low for me so fingers crossed.

Well it is not like we have a choice. They can hire Ronald McDonald and it would have absolutely nothing to do with us other than our choice to continue watching a team we spent our entire lives watching.
