This post is skillfully written to deny Dak any credit at all.By establishing a vertical run game and sticking with it, Schottenheimer has taken the focus off of the passing game. He has forced defenses to back off and guard the line.
This is why statistics lie; high passing yards do not make a winning team, and they certainly do not signify that a quarterback is elite.
A team has to have a balanced attack, with one piece complimenting the others, and vice versa.
The Cowboys offense is moving the ball because defenses no longer merely have to defend Dak Prescott. The run game is gashing them deep, and this creates openings in the secondary as defenses are forced to account for the possibility of run or pass on every down.
The best quarterback isn't the one with the highest passing yards, but the one who can be counted on to make good decisions, with the accuracy and moxy to stand in and make plays when it's his time to step up.
I think Schotty is doing a great job.
Family and health.I've never understood why Dungy and Bill Cowher retired so early from coaching
Oh. I hadnt heard the health issues but family is one that I can understand as Coaching time is nothing like working the weekly TV showsFamily and health.

You need a defense that actually thinks about making a stop from time to time for that to happen. Now it's time to win games we should be winning. No more coming close. Beat the Jets, start a trend in winning.
Also a few breaks from being 2-2They are a couple breaks away from being winless.

2-2...so what?Also a few breaks from being 2-2
In pre-season there was a question posed to forumites on what areas we were concerned/interested in watching. The linebacking position on this club is a mess .
Yeah, I was disappointed when he backed off there at the five yard line in OT, especially after they had been doing so well running between the tackles. Maybe he had doubts about the backups, who knows, but it was a mistake IMO. I will give him credit though for committing to improving the power running game, it's sooo much better this year. And kudos to the RB nobody had faith in, he's killing it!I think he needs to incorporate more passes to the RBs in the flat and screens. And have more confidence in the run game in the red zone.
Naw, that TD pass to Pickens after the turnover was gutsy. Most people were thinking let's go Aubrey at that point.LOL.
Schottenheimer has no scruples. At all.
The entirety of his gameplan on Sunday night was playing not to lose.
Well, let's see;lol! Such a resounding answer. Thank you.
So, basically, it has been all about Brian Schottenheimer in all four games, nothing to do with Dak Prescott.
Will Brian 'Doing it Right' Schottenheimer's offense help improve the offense's ability to offset the defense's ineffectiveness--that has contributed to a 1-2-1 start?
lol did you fall asleep early in the 2nd quarterLOL.
