Schottenheimer post game locker room after Texans game

People forget how hard it is to win games in the NFL. Especially in today's game with the rules bent heavily in the offense's favor; because high scores apparently means higher ratings.

The Texans may be 0-4 but they are not a bad team. Bad is Miami. The Cowboys deserve to celebrate this one.

One year we beat a team 65 to 58, the next year we beat the same team 10 to 7....they both counted as a win for us and a loss for them.... some guys just can't bring themselves to enjoy a win.... enjoy it after the game, sleep on it, break down the game tomorrow and then, rip and correct.
I think a big positive today was we got to handle on the penalties a little bit.

The Texans had twice as many penalties for almost a hundred yards.

In a tight game like that those penalty yards make a difference and it was nice to see us not continually shooting ourselves in the foot today

THE NFL only cares about wins and losses, not how. let him enjoy it, if the team gets better good on him. if not, oh well, hes not getting fired.

what a blowhard. defense did not show up again. i do not know what game shotty is watching.
The defense made enough plays to win this game. The lack of talent on defense is pretty obvious; that's because the front office has been trading its assets over the years to give Dak a better supporting cast. The logic is for the offense to carry this football team since that's where the front office has put their faith.

When Parcells rebuilt this team, he did it by drafting on the defensive side of the ball. The Joneses just want to throw the football all over and to play from behind. He did the same thing in Romo's later years.

Was stunned to see this defense force four punts in a game...even from an 0-3 team.

A win is a win. Stick it in the knapsack...another contest, against another winless team, in four days.

They did at times.

Missing two starting corners, a starting safety, another key safety, and a starting inside linebacker.

It's getting better, but they'd better hurry..
They're looking better but it's schizophrenic... at the end of the day they still let a pretty punchless offense hang 30 on them.

Team seems to like him.

If he is going to be successful long term, he has to improve and improve quickly in regard to coaching decisions. The ones in Brazil and then he turns around this week and has the blunder at the end of the half. That was brutal.

On offense, he needs to forget the gadget plays. It doesn't seem to be his thing and he is going to get CD killed handing him the ball. This offense is good enough to score without needing to resort to trick plays.

Announcers kept talking about how great Houston defense is.....yet they never adjusted to do anything to cover Lamb. It was pretty much pitch and catch and the last catch might have been the easiest one of the game.
I have no problems with him letting Aubrey attempt the two long kicks. Problem was the ST blocking again. Aubrey just didn't put a good foot on the second kick, but I'm confident in him making that kick then the defense holding up if they punted

They showed up when they needed to most
The reality is that offense is the calling card and has to carry the team for now because they are unchanged from last year and top paid

The defense has a first time new DC with 70-80% new players. They played better today and we need to see where they are in mid November to get a better gauge

Agree dallas should leave the trick plays alone. lol

CP needs to have this figured out by midseason, or we've been sold a lie.

I see nothing unique or specific about his "scheme". There's no evidence of being a "Fangio" guy. He seems like just a typical position coach.
