Schottenheimer starts off OTA with some paintball

when you use that many hammers, does that mean he is in the running for your......
POST OF THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah usually means i'm filled with too much excitement to deem that person's post a specific award (damn you got me opening up!) Uhh lol :muttley::muttley::muttley::confused:

Cowboys Pro Bowl LG Tyler Smith said new head coach Brian Schottenheimer took the team to play paintball on the first day of optional team activities. “I thought that was a crazy thing. That’s never happened before. I thought that was really cool to start things off on a fun note. … The guys were going crazy. It was fun.”

Who was the best?

“Markquese Bell. Oh my God. Oh my God. Markquese Bell could probably go to SEAL Team 6. I’m not gonna lie, the way he be paintballing, Bell, for sure.”

Shamu was already booked huh?….

I mean, this is a cheap gimmick attempting to build culture. It's play stuff. Not serious. Slacker mentality, like McCarthy smashing watermelons.

How does this impact their GameDay performances. This is truly stupid. They can all do this in the Dak yard, or whatever else
If that was all they are doing, then yeah. If the players misinterpret that to mean they can put in a lousy practice thinking it's all good and it really is, then yeah but I see nothing wrong with Shotty trying to build a team atmosphere where everyone wants to play hard and win for their friends rather than a bunch of individuals who are receiving a paycheck.

It's only gimmick if the coaches expect any less than the best from these players and/or refuses to hold him accountable to the standard of being the best.

I mean there were many of us who were complaining exactly that the problem has been culture not so much talent. You can't honestly think that years past the culture has been good. It was a loser mentality for many, many, many, many many years. What I do hope is what shawty is doing is real.

OK, this is getting ridiculous.

So, this is his schtick now? Gimmicks?

Any player with a brain sees through this.
"Hey guys! I'm cool right? Right? We're playin' some paintball, we're chewin' some bubble gum.... what's better than this, right gang?"

Cheesball krap. Gimmicky shtick is right.

Players will be goofing on the coach secretly and putting Kick Me signs on his back.

The Chiefs and Eagles aren't playing paintball. I saw the Chiefs we're already focusing on ball security, and Philly was hard-core practicing turn over techniques on DAY 1.

And we're playing hopscotch and Monopoly and coming up with nicknames.

And people in here just slurping it up....once again. SMH

The only way I endorse this is if they let Jerruh and Stupid Stephen play too, and they substitute the paintballs with elephant tranquilizers

I mean, you nailed it as far as I'm concerned. Ball security would be a smart thing to work on right now.

Team building cohesiveness and the usual suspects whine. Same posters, different day.

Win me a Super Bowl before trying stuff like this in....... 5, 4, 3, 2, ...

So how do you develop a relationship with the guys and make them fight for you and each other? I don’t have the answer
I've got the answer.....paintball as a team is great for these guys but if you want to really bond, you take them to the strip club afterwards and hoist some 40s.

But seriously, as long as a coach is their authentic self it should command respect.

Whether a personality is that of a boisterous Dan Campbell or a calmer Mike McDaniel, it better be kept a buck.....because if its not , the players will see through it In a minute

I mean...this is ludicrous really. I can't believe some of the people in here actually are rationalizing this

These guys are football players sure, but they're also employees at a JOB.

Has anyone in here ever gotten a job in their life, where you show up to work on the 1st or 2nd day, and your boss is like "screw work guys, let's go play kickball or Frisbee golf instead of working.

We'd all probably like it if that happened, but in the back of our head we'd be thinking "what kind of Cracker jack company am I working for? How are they in business?"

That was HEAVY sarcasm
Oh, my bad

However, i remember last season ,week 1 , when I really believed that the Browns top 5 defense was going to destroy our offense.....I was wrong because I forgot that the offenses are usually ahead of the defenses early in the season

The Brown had no offense at any point of the season but the Eagles have a potent one so our D may have a long day
