He told us what he was going to do and, so far, that’s what he’s doing.

The team may well be middle of the pack again next year but it’s nice to see that there at least appears to be a plan and a thought out coaching approach.

Results in the field will be the ultimate scorecard and I don’t think this team is very good.

I will say I was not a fan of the schotty hiring and his resume is pretty lackluster but I have liked some of the comments he has made since hired. We will see if it has any impact though to change how this team operates. Really tough to change how things have been done for so long.

The Jets and Jaguars were among the teams wanting to interview him for HC several years ago. Schotty recognized he wasn't ready for it yet when he was in his 30s.

Not saying he's going to be a success here, but I am willing to at least give him a chance. It's clear he has a plan for the roster and is executing it. Our past two coaches did not. Big Mike tried to recapture the past and Garrett and his "process" was hot garbage from the start.

He's a HC only in title, just like he was last year with the OC job.

That said it was a decent draft. Too many holes to fill and not enough picks but they got some good guys.

It could have been a blessing in disguise. The fact Jerry wanted to run it back with McCarthy still turns my stomach.

As for what made Schotty ready, I have no idea. Like I said, I am willing to give him a chance. At least he entered the job knowing the roster and knowing what the working environment is.

I am probably sounding like an optimistic homer. But I am just willing to wait and see what this team looks like before throwing Schotty into the same pile with Garrett and Big Mike.
