Very good article about Brian and his thoughts and how he is approaching his chance as HC of the Cowboys.

Aside from leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl, Schottenheimer also has another goal in mind: Build the greatest culture in professional sports. It's something he has emphasized since his introductory press conference, and although he knows it won't happen overnight, Schottenheimer trusts the process he's begun to construct and that his players will come to trust it too.

"I go back to my days with Pete [Carroll]," Schottenheimer said. "I think if you go back and you look at some of the things we did in Seattle, obviously the starting point for me would be things that our players do well. You're always going to start with that. If your system is not flexible enough to do what your players do well, then you're probably in the wrong business."

Shoddy is beginning to grow on me. The enthusiasm seems a little deliberate at times, but that’s what todays players probably respond well to.

It’s a typical Jerry hire, but Jerry wouldn’t not Jerry for anyone, except Parcells, and only when he needs a building funded.

MILES better than Garrett though. That guy was as disingenuous as it could get, and I’m sure the players tuned him out well before his departure. The monotone alone could put anyone to sleep. But Jerry was having fun. That’s the important part.

Steele's top form is one that could very well reappear in 2025. After all, film review provides evidence of his consistency of play improving dramatically once there was a healthy right guard standing to the left of him in 2024.
As almost all of us said, getting a better guard beside him made a difference last year. Getting an even better guard will help even more.

Getting another full off season will help and getting another year away from his surgery will help. And don't discount getting better coaching!

I've been hard on BS as the new HC and I will continue to be until I see wins stacking up in real games. All the talk and practice means nothing to me. I need to see actual results that matter.

But it all needs to start somewhere as to building up to those wins.
Be happy he is actually trying to make changes for the better.

Yes we all know, need to see it on the field. But it starts in the off season now. Even though many do not think it means a thing. But it does.

I don't care about anything but wins. That's what changes my mind, not all the hype!

It's like Jerry saying all the time that we have a superbowl team, only to be home while other GOOD teams are advancing to get a chance at a Superbowl!

I didn't say that I don't know where you got that from

Translate.......I hope to build a legacy similar to my dad, Mardy, who was an NFL Head coach for 21 years.

I remain more apprehensive about the actual talent level of the roster than I am about Schottenheimer.

Hes got alot to manage this season and really needs to leave the Xs and Os to the Coordinators.

Learning how to be an effective in-game HC, game-planning and motivating players are his really tangible goals this 1st year.

There will be growing pains but the owner won't pull the plug early.....he never does.

Great article. I love hearing this kind of talk. Comradery is strong medicine.

"I was taught at a young age by my father that you can outwork people in this business. You don't belong in this organization if you don't value relationships," Schottenheimer said.
"This business has never been about Xs and Os. It's about people, and when I thought about it, I can't imagine sitting up here with a better group of people, a better family to do this with. So I thank you guys for that opportunity."

Love this ...........been saying it's all about communication and managing people. Exactly why I have been saying I think his success is going to surprise some people. I'm sold 100%
