Schotty Ball, how Brian is approaching his big shot

No, I'm not going anywhere. I'm still going to laugh at all the things other fans are buying into for no good reason. I'm still going to observe as much of the sausage getting made as CZ shows us.
So, you’ll troll the fans at the Zone.

Got it.

Good news is you’re not alone.

The line forms to the left for guys who make a point in being negative.

Don't deny that it happens - it's an every day thing. I won't name names, but you know exactly who they are.
The ones who do it? Oh for sure people do it here. There’s the people who call fans slobberers and those that call them haters. We know who they are.

Maybe this Milton guy will light a fire. We'll soon see.
I hope he does. He has some tools. While I’d prefer we address that spot with a high first rounder whether then pray lightning strikes three times in a row I loved the Milton trade and should make for exciting preseason games.

Very good article about Brian and his thoughts and how he is approaching his chance as HC of the Cowboys.

Aside from leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl, Schottenheimer also has another goal in mind: Build the greatest culture in professional sports. It's something he has emphasized since his introductory press conference, and although he knows it won't happen overnight, Schottenheimer trusts the process he's begun to construct and that his players will come to trust it too.

"I go back to my days with Pete [Carroll]," Schottenheimer said. "I think if you go back and you look at some of the things we did in Seattle, obviously the starting point for me would be things that our players do well. You're always going to start with that. If your system is not flexible enough to do what your players do well, then you're probably in the wrong business."
I have to admit I was less then thrilled when they announced the hiring of him
But with every week since I’ve jumped on the bandwagon
It started with his staff ( which seems like an upgrade on all levels)
Then changing the culture
Haven’t been this optimistic in years
Not saying there instantly SB contenders but buy the end of the year I think we will be the Team no one wants to play

Right.
I do not expect any miracles, or a SB. But things are looking up and much better all of last off-season.

It starts with Jerry trying to sell his BS, just like he does every year, and people fall for it EVERY......DARN.......YEAR

To me it's a bit like a woman in an abusive relationship she refuses to walk away from. She keeps telling herself that "one day he's going to change......."
What BS has Jerry thrown out there this year?

Save yourself some grief around here.

You aren't brainwashed nor lobotomized: you realize that all this talk and comments of "this coach is The One or that 7th round rookie obviously looks like a future HOF'er" talk is just the same thing that happens around here every offseason for the past 30 years.

But just save yourself a migraine, because the Zaney Zoners won't be content until you start making threads/comments about how Shartenheimer is "connecting with players in a new way (paintball), and posting threads about every 6th and 7th round pick asking "Could <nsert meaningless player name> become the next <insert name of some Hall of Fame Player like Jerry Rice or Reggie White>

U til you do that....they'll continue to Mob you until you conform.

P.s. Zaney Zoners please don't read this post...it's just for my guy Joey here.
Just like Zaney Zoner "dislikers" will mob one on anything positive, by turning it into a negative. Just to take over all threads to bring other fans down to their level.
And you get on me for posting what they say, when you are here doing the same thing.

OK good luck.

Remember....their attacks are never smart, clever or logical.... but, just like in zombie apocalypse movies, any 1 zombie is easily defeated, but when thousands of them mindlessly pile up on you, the sheer weight of them can crush you under a mountain of thoughtless, blabbering chaos.

Stay off the main roads, only travel at night...and maybe you can survive
Still at it, instead of adding anything useful.

I wonder who on here will admit to Shotty being their first choice as hire.
Probably no one. If they say they did, they are lying or need some help.

I know I did not, and was completely surprised. But he did put together what seems to be a very good staff.
Younger coaches but yet some experience, in the NFL and college. So they can relater to the players better. Or sounds good in theory.

Not expecting miracles though. But will be interesting to see how that and the team grow as the season goes along.

Shoddy is beginning to grow on me. The enthusiasm seems a little deliberate at times, but that’s what todays players probably respond well to.

It’s a typical Jerry hire, but Jerry wouldn’t not Jerry for anyone, except Parcells, and only when he needs a building funded.

MILES better than Garrett though. That guy was as disingenuous as it could get, and I’m sure the players tuned him out well before his departure. The monotone alone could put anyone to sleep. But Jerry was having fun. That’s the important part.
Monotone Mike set the bar low.

He thinks inks coaching football is just like anything else.

Are you certain this 'culture' message is 100% Schotty's doing? That message is most likely coming from Jerry. It's not like he hasn't heard the media and fans constantly talking about it.

Who really knows. From what I read, and heard in PC's. BS seems to be front and center most of the time.

I don't really care where it comes from, as long as they are trying to make changes for the better.
Now will that translate into more wins. We will need to wait and see.

As I been saying, not expecting any miracles. Maybe, a push for playoff spot #7. I had us about #8 to #10. But with the Pickens trade, moved up to #7 or #8 for sure. Well, on paper anyway.

I’ve suspected that all along. It’s Jerry’s team and he isn’t allowing a guy who wasn’t his first choice as HC to change a thing.

Maybe he is allowing this for now to create some sort of illusion or hope, but Jerry is gonna Jerry when the time comes. 100% guaranteed.

If he signed TO against Parcells’ wishes, what’s Shoddy gonna say or do?

I’m actually getting a little sick of the word “culture” because until Jerry either shuts up and totally gets out of the way or croaks, not a thing is going to change.

Even if they have a surprisingly great season, he will start using the phrase “Super Bowl” in December and the team will miraculously not show up for the first playoff game.

Every time I watch Goodfellas I root for Tommy to not get whacked because he is a really funny guy lol, but it still happens.

Or as Steve Perry once sang…”the movie never ends it goes on and on and on and on….”

I hate to do it, I feel like everything seems too good to be real right now. Cowboys finally assembled a good offseason. However, something about "Shotty's Culture" I'm not buying. Who cares about culture sorry, in football you build culture by winning. Plain and simple.
You go win a super bowl, you don't build a super bowl winning culture. lol

Dallas, their coach, their players should all just shutup and go to work.
Prove it on the field.
Prove it in the Playoffs.

It's been a rough embarrassing last two decades. End of Rant.
