Schotty on Milton

why would you want will grier as your # 3 QB? he cant play. 6 years say so. This would be my ideal situation: I know Joe Flacco is signed but as an example: I want a Joe Flacco as a backup for a year that can bail the team out for a game or two..and have joe milton be # 3 and absorb stuff from dak and a guy with clout like a Flacco. how could this be bad?
They like Grier. He almost beat out Rush when he was here before.

Farve was that way too. Not ideal but can be worked with
Lol. Seriously?

Favre is one of the best qbs to ever play the game. He was the definition of a gunslinger. That has nothing to do of not being able to throw the ball with Touch. Which he always could do.

Milton cant. Never couldt. Not in college, not during his nfl stint until now. All the guy has is a strong arm.

He was let go by his old team.

But you compare him to favre?

Again. Seriously?

For that matter I’m happy Cooper Rush is elsewhere . Churn the roster .
Yes, it wasn't like we were going anywhere if Rush had to play for very long. Might as well at least strive to do better than that. It might crash and burn, but at least we tried something.

Exactly !! I like Cooper Rush he’s humble plays under control helps win some games but in the end you’re hitting a wall yr after yr . Dak at this time is not playing 17 games I don’t care if he’s in a body cast with Smith Beebe and this latest OL # 1 pick as body guards your going to see QB 2 at some point . Try something different and with a change in HC I can’t help but think he took this to board of directors himself .

Oh no please no Joe Flacco throwing pick 6’s to corners baiting him . No no no I want to see what the latest trade for a back up QB has brought this franchise . And no sitting the guy for 2-3 yrs like Trey Lance then start one meaningless game before you throw a 4th round trade in the trash .

If Dak crumbles which 17 a ridiculous # of games dictates I want to see Milton and what he brings fo the table . I say Grier as a 3 because 3’s never play thank goodness .

They could have kept Lance or Rush for 6-8M per year.

They chose the QB making league min.

The hype around a 6th round pick that Patriots just dumped is astounding.
i can sort of live with that hype because of the unknown factor. I cannot live with the will grier hype. he. hasnt. played. in. an. nfl. game. since. 2019. He is 30, played in 2 games in career and is stealing money by being on an nfl roster.

btw-- whyjerry...great name. top 5 on here for sure. but "the clappin carrot" is best overall.

Likely neither ever get fixed. But the arm talent with the kids is worth taking a shot at. If he could just develop into a solid backup it’s a win
It's not that I dont have confidence in Milton because hes relatively untested.....its that I dont have confidence in the FOs evaluation of talent

Consider he plays QB and most hate the one we have.
Hate is a strong word with Dak. By all accounts he is a good guy. Stays out of trouble. Says the right things. He is a good QB that chokes in big spots. I don’t trust Dak in a big spot but I like the guy.

Milton is an enigma that can’t throw the ball with accuracy. That is why he was a 6. It is a big problem.

To me, anytime a guy has a great arm but he still gets drafted very late, there are obvious other issues. IMO you're almost better off with a late round guy with an average arm who has other intangibles that might translate to the pros.
There are two facets to being an NFL starting QB: Arm strength and Head for the game. And it's not that you have to have a cannon, but you must have enough arm strength to throw your way out of trouble, to make tight throws when the game is on the line.

If you completely lack one or the other, you're not starting QB material.

Maybe Dak and Romo can help him change his mechanics, since they were always trying to change theirs.
Maybe Milton can make it work for himself.

I am very interested though is watching Milton in PS games. He should get a lot of snaps.
Providing the team gets over their infatuation with Grier.
Grier is a better QB than Milton. And that's sad.

Wrong wrong wrong and more wrong prescott has never choked in big spots the team choked and of course he didn't play well kinda hard to play well when you don't have a run game an offensive line tons of penalties playing behind the chain the defense that gives up a touchdown on every single score you're playing from behind under pressure no separation from your receivers..

Right the casuals around here continue to say he plays ok no he's actually an MVP quality player at times top 10 at worse and yet he chokes in big games no he chokes in big spots from a casual viewpoint that doesn't understand that football is made up of a lot of players and moving pieces it's called a team game and when those pieces fall apart of course the quarterback is going to look bad starts in the trenches has everything to do with stopping the run and being able to run and play defense and when you do have time to throw you have to have somebody open I mean apparently these things just go right by and I'm not having this discussion with you you are the problem..

But you are correct on Millen people are not realizing this is a larger possibly just slightly better version of Trey Lance he said total Q? People hoping they see him is insane prescott's going to be here at least two more seasons strap it down get ready all the complaints is not gonna matter we have a very good quarterback that if you give him stronger play from the team instead of the giant pile of the crap we get from this team and this coaching staff from the last couple of decades in the big moments in those big game for talking about not having talent in the regular season having that talent actually show up when the heat gets turned up.

That hasn't happened but quarterback shaming acting like he is a deer in a headlights and choked in big moments is absolutely incorrect he absolutely can't carry the team when the rest of the team is collapsing around him that would be a true fact not many quarterbacks can look at Patrick Mahomes looking like he was back at Texas Tech playing the Eagles defense that's what a real defense looks like when it can stop an offense and the offense has no answer andy Reid looked like he was back being an old coordinator again that's what happens when the team shows up and is dominant at every level it makes your quarterback look really good..

But when they're screwing things up they can't line up right they can't block they can't create a run game they can't stop the run they can't play defense they can't get open all this stuff has happened..
