Schotty on Milton

Of course. Why do we have to do this every time? Do you really forget the counter points that absolutely shredded your 403 yards point? What was the score at the half and how did Dak play?

We've done this before, do you have memory issues? Asking honestly.
Sorry you are nothing to me.

This is it. Late round project who didn’t pan out with the team who drafted him. The chances of him even being an NFL backup are slim.
Actually, he is looking good so far and the Patriots gm didn't want to trade him according to Bryan Broaddus.

We have nothing but shaky reasons to insist on believing Joe Milton has no chance here. This is another team with a different scheme and also with different players and coaching to help his cause.

Many factors could easily change his fortunes and prove him to be worthy of a roster spot here. If it doesn't work out, it'll only be one more QB who didn't quite fit into winning himself a meaningful role, here. There's surely no shame in it. There've been many who came here and many who had to leave.

Yep heard that too.

Character is fine.

Patriots GM didn’t want to trade him.

Sounded like it was the NE coaches pushing to trade him.

New coaching staff going all in with Maye and didn't want any issues with Milton not getting a chance to start after what they went through with their qbs a few years ago.
All training camp & preseason last year I kept hearing Milton looked significantly better than Maye.

He just wasn’t going to get an opportunity in New England because of where each player was drafted.

That is a riot that you may actually believe that!!!!!

Yeah, NFL teams get rid of the better QBs all the time.

I wouldn't say "shaky".

its often about bad foot work....most college QBs lack it and it takes a lot of repetition for them to fix the footwork (breaking bad habits is hard). so hopefully he will improve.
dak had the same problem. he used to spend jan - april in so cal working on fixing it. not sure if he still does but did during early seasons. i have seen him throwing at Goldenwest college in HB.

Broaddus said that he talked to the Patriots General Manager and he told him that he didn’t want to trade Milton. Broaddus speculated that new coaching staff didn’t want him and wanted a different backup for Maye. The prior Patriots coaches liked Milton.

Let’s hope Milton can develop into a capable backup. He is under contract for three more seasons. Let’s not overstate him or underrate him. Broaddus also said he will be the number 2 over Grier. This isn’t a Rush/Lance situation. Grier is no Rush.

why would you want will grier as your # 3 QB? he cant play. 6 years say so. This would be my ideal situation: I know Joe Flacco is signed but as an example: I want a Joe Flacco as a backup for a year that can bail the team out for a game or two..and have joe milton be # 3 and absorb stuff from dak and a guy with clout like a Flacco. how could this be bad?
That would be a very bad thing for Dak's delicate ego having a veteran in the QB room that can call out Dak's idiosyncrasies. It's what Romo was doing as Dak's backup his rookie year. I hope Romo writes a book about that experience some day.

Joe Milton Is far too experienced to hang back as you are suggesting. He isn't absorbing anything from Dak except bad habits. He'll be ready to start games by mid-season which is about when Dak's frail body will experience another season ending injury. The Cowboys won't skip a beat with Dak gone and Joe taking over.

Dallas was cheap.

Let our backups walk.

Grier and JM are scrubs.

Let's see, Dak was 3-5 last year, sounds about right.
