Stuff I learned today

Look at the engine bay of cars from the 60’s, even the huge muscle car engines 440ci, 455, 427, 429 you could see the ground no problem. Today with all of the new advanced tech such as safety devices etc I dare you to say that you can see the ground in any new car engine bay. Every inch of space is maximized to the absolute fullest. Of course it’s harder to work on today’s cars.
This is true, auto company's do not want you to repair your own car therefore they make it harder for people to do their own maintenances.....especially when you need their computer system to clear certain codes or run certain test or calibrations...... Our shop rate is $220 an hr, and that's on the low end in the auto mall here.

Most dealerships do not profit off new car sales(used car different story), Its the repeat service customers with new cars that keep this place afloat.

Oh no, back in the day though it was a breeze. Two bolts for the starter underneath the Camaro, alternator was a piece of cake too. No reason those both should be longer than a 20 minute job combined
I was surprised today. I had to put in a new headlight bulb in my Rogue, and I was able to fit my hand in and everything. Took me about 2 minutes...A lot easier than my Dakota was

That reminds me, had a Ford Taurus. A V6 with the back three spark plugs up against the firewall almost literally. Had to remove the intake just to reach them. There are 2 things that should never be involved in Auto making, one is people that wear suits, the other is the government

Don't forget Homer Simpson

I learned that it takes three years for Tabasco Sauce to make it to your kitchen table.
The pepper ferments in an oak barrel for 3 years before its bottled and shipped to the stores.

In MLB, before 1921, any batted ball that bounced through or over the fence was a HR.
