Schotty on Milton

Sooooooooooo, since he was a 6th round pick, what's the reason now?!!!!!!!!!!(Late 6th)
By bad for the round mistake, but stand by what I said, he's better, some wanna believe. Remember, even the Titans admitted they had other trade offers. Can he develop into an NFL starter? No idea but maybe a solid backup.

I didn't mind the trade, and I agree, he should be a decent backup.

What you're coming up against is the pushback from people absolutely gushing about Milton. It's gotten really silly.

He's raw as heck, no question about that.....but I think some fans just want anyone different from Dak and for whatever reason, love a QB with a strong arm.

BTW.....Just started a new Milton thread ( waiting for approval ). Not sure what to make of it, but his maturity has a way to go.

JM has been productive much more than Lance and much better than he will ever be. I will take him over Rush and his noodle arm.

JM has beaten Buffalo, something that Dak has failed to do. Give him time to learn and he might even replace Dak.

He has a stronger arm, more mobility and if we can correct some mistakes he might become a starter.

As for draft profile is dumb because they said the same things about Dak as well - inaccurate, average arm, nothing more than a running QB.
If JM doesn’t learn how to throw before OTAs are over, he’s gonna have a short career.

Something he never learned to do in 6 seasons of NCAA.

He’s only making 1M, and it isn’t even GTD money.

Not sure I would compare JM to Rush or Lance.

Are you kidding me? Milton threw for over 5,000 yards in college! In his last year alone, he put up 2,800 yards and tossed 20 touchdowns. I guarantee you the Patriots and Cowboys both saw his arm talent—don’t tell me he can’t throw.

He even beat Buffalo with a 75% completion rate and a touchdown pass. Has Rush, Lance, or even Dak ever beaten Buffalo? Didn’t think so.

If Rush and Lance were actually any good, the Cowboys would’ve kept them. Let’s be real—Cooper and Lance were both terrible backups. I’m glad we moved on, and honestly, I feel a lot better about Milton as a backup if Dak goes down. He’s got way more upside than what we’ve had in recent years.

Cooper wasn't terrible...

Rush was a fairly average player. He never really showed signs of making a big leap or significantly improving. His skills were solid, but nothing stood out. Realistically, he always seemed more like a dependable backup or someone you’d use in a pinch, rather than a player you’d rely on as a full-time starter in the NFL.

Given how long he’s been around, you’d expect him to have made at least some progress. But that just hasn’t been the case.

I don't understand what you mean by making a big leap. Cooper has terrible arm strength, there's no making a big leap from there. His skills were not solid, his arm was grossly subpar. He made a good backup career by having an amazing head for the game.
