Philly doesn’t need to throw the ball to win. Hurts had less than 3000 yards last season. He’s never even had a 4000 yard season.Dallas goedert and his career high 800 yards is a great tight end?
Schultz had a decent season in 2021. at the time we had McKeon and Blake Jarwin, whom everyone was high on, but he never amounted to anything. that was Schultz last year on his rookie contract. since Neither Jarwin or McKeon worked out, they tagged Schultz. they had no other options. that season, there were I belive 4 other TEs hitting the market that year and couple of them got tagged and they were all pretty similar in production. so we stayed in house, tagged schultz. then we drafted ferguson in 2022. so he was a rookie. Schultz production in 2022 dropped significantly. and Fergi showed a little athelticism and ability. Cowboys let Schultz walk since they didn't want to pay himand bet on Fergi being able to take over. it was risky. but he showed way more than Jarwin and McKeaon in his rookie year. Cowboys did the usual, sign a UDFA with Hendershot, hoping to strike gold and he was given lots of opportunities. Fergi had similar production to Schultz in 2023, so their bet worked out.You got it wrong. They allowed Shultz to walk before Ferguson did anything. Ferg only had 19 catches for under 200 yards when Shultz walked. Shultz had a down year so the Cowboys let him walk and took their chances with Ferg and Hendershot. TE was high our list in the draft and we took Schoon.
what people have to understand is for a passing offense to be potent you have to be able to attack all 9 passing zones, and minimally with at least 2 top players. Lamb and Pickens are great, but having Fergi go back to his former self, will just pressure the defenses even more in coverage and should allow us to have more options. and I agree, TE is critical. even Eagles have Goedert who is more a top 5 type TE.Pickens and Lamb are WRs and Pickens is on a one year deal. You obviously didn’t think about that.TE is important to your passing game. Just look at Kelce and Kittle. They’re big and can find seams in traffic and can move the chains. Plus they provide a security blanket for your QB. All the Cowboys championship teams had great TE’s.
they had a 2000 yard rusher. when you can run like that. you are correct. you put games away and you don't need to pass much.Philly doesn’t need to throw the ball to win. Hurts had less than 3000 yards last season. He’s never even had a 4000 yard season.
Even before they had a 2000 yard rusher they weren’t throwing a lot. Hurts has never had a 4000 yard season. The last 4000 yard passer Philly had was Carson Wentz in 2019.they had a 2000 yard rusher. when you can run like that. you are correct. you put games away and you don't need to pass much.
he counters that with his running ability. so we can look at total yards as a measure of his impact. plus Philly is usually top 5 in rushing, the one year they dropped off, was the disaster season of 23 when they went 10-1 and lost 6 of 7 to end the season. even then they were top 10. they also rely heavily on their defense which has been in the top 5, except the 23 season, when they just dropped off the map and main part of reason they went 1-6 to close the season.Even before they had a 2000 yard rusher they weren’t throwing a lot.
