Schotty - Parker is our DC. All (defensive) decisions will go through him

The backwards visor is just ridiculous ... Zero Functionality.

Keeps your neck from getting burned.

Seems we have a tug a war going on between Jerry and CP. Shotty being the middle man
yeah, its gonna be interesting to see CP and Shotty go against Jerry's statement on Sunday....Let's see what Jerry has to say to the media once CP decides to stay on the sideline.....not a good look for the young coach to buck the Owner. Who's is in charge Shotty and CP or Jerry the GM and Owner....uuhm

I was reading an article where Mike Tomlin and Jason Kelce were talking about Shoddy being dead in the water after the players meeting.

The situation in dallas seems hopeless
It does seem hopeless. The only hope with the Cowboys defense is that the can hold them to a FG every once in awhile instead of a TD.

Having said that the season is still early and the NFC is a toss up. I don’t know whose idea it was to bring in Pettine but it’s a good move. CP needs help and hopefully he’ll be able to be the difference. So don’t give up hope yet.

Something like 75% of the League's DCs call the game from the booth...for what appear to be obvious reasons.
Actually it's closer to 80% prefer from the sidelines for the purposes of direct face to face communication, immediate emotional and tactical feedback and faster adjustments between series!

Is he pushing back on Jerry?

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer when asked about DC Christian Parker moving to the coaching booth during games, which Jerry Jones said yesterday would be happening: “None of those decisions have been finalized.”“There’s a good chance Christian is on the field.”“Christian Parker is our defensive coordinator. All (defensive) decisions will go through him.”

Interesting that Shotty said this.

Jerry has other plans. He likely told Shotty MP is the defense Boss.

Without Boss authority, CP and Shotty can just ignore MP.

Shotty and CP both lose authority.

Can’t see everything from the field.

CP hasn't done anything to earn Jerry's trust. The team looks as bad as it did a year ago. We know talent is an issue, but the schematics are horrible. The Dallas D gets on the field without a proper game plan and keeps getting beat on basic plays. A defense that averages almost 40 minutes on the field has serious problems besides talent.

It makes sense that Parker should stay on the field with the addition of Mike Pettine.

That can change at some point of course, but the fastest way to get Pettine into the process now is to put him in the booth and Parker stays on the field.

With Pettine in the booth, he can relay what he sees and Parker, whom the players know and are used to working with, can stay on the field and call the defensive schemes and make adjustments.
Making adjustments is the key. He needs to be able to sit with his players on the sidelines and look them in the eye.

Nonsense!
Not only can it be seen from the sidelines, what you're seeing can be personally communicated exponentially much more succinctly.
hmmm.....
I've been on the sideline during a game in my days at Texas A&M. All you see are bodies running around in what looks like complete chaos.
I'd think you can see more detail from a bird's eye view.

With Pettine coming onboard as an advisor, it would make sense to me for them to both be in the booth for awhile. Parker needs mentorship in play calling and situational awareness. On the sidelines people are trying to pull his attention in 100 different directions at the same time.

CP isn’t a positional coach anymore. He needs to trust his assistant coaches to do their jobs on the sideline, and let players follow a true chain of command.
