You're 100% correct but most of the fans here don't pay attention to whatever happens on other teams and just think this kind of thing only happens to the Cowboys.

The guy entered the league a backup/ST player, had a solid 2020, and performed like a top 10 TE in 2021. He's now making top 5 money at the TE position for 2022, all of which is guaranteed. I'm just not sure the support for this guy in a contract dispute will be there. I'm all for the billionaire owners paying up, but this one surprises me a bit as the track record just isn't there to demand a top dollar multi year deal.
