I wouldn't be so sure Miami scores that many points. Their offense can disappear. They've done so in every game they've played recently except the Patriots and Jets.

It looks like a team that owns the 2 dinks in their division, but anytime they go outside of that familiar territory whether it's a good team or bad team... their offense can struggle.

Against the Raiders.... they did move the ball, but their offense made lots of bad plays as well. They got away with it because the Raiders just made more bad plays. Aidan O'Connoll had a chance to tie the game on the last play.

Against the Titans, they had 6 offensive points.

Against the Eagles, they had 17 against a defense that's now known to be pretty bad.

Against the Chiefs, they were held scoreless at the half.

I know they're capable of scoring 30, but it seems like they're just as capable of looking like any of those 4 efforts, which is essentially every game they played in the last 8 week except the Patriots and Jets.

He's a High School and very successful Valley Head Coach.

Pull your own head out of the sand...He's more a Cowboys fan than you and you are just dead wrong. See a recruiter and try to change Basic Training...
He knows it was a joke. Don't be so sensitive.

He loves Jason Garrett too.

go ahead with the next impulse...tell me you don't understand English as well.

Kick butt from the start, Cowboys!:starspin: Ever take on an offensive lineman six inches taller and who out weighed you about 60 pounds to defeat him? Come on back when YOU figure out how to do just that...
It's all about footwork and leverage. Throw him off balance and it doesn't matter how much stronger he is, he needs the center of gravity in the right spot to utilize it. Just saying.

He has arm length and a punch to start with, first. One has got to beat him with one's own punch and hand fight unless he goes for the legs. I use to beat him on the strike before he stood up as an angry bear. A low block makes it tough.

Sure thing, only a team such as San Francisco and now Buffalo score and force the Cowboys to change and quickly get behind. Focus is the missing element against the Cowboys starting up front. Running a show on a game board, try Monopoly.

Try no flags starting games out as well. No, that direction is what the game plan already is...force a Cowboys momentum.

I agree with scoring first but what happened to having faith in our defense? I like getting the ball first in the second half.

Every game is different...if you can't come back, you don't belong! Don't be so dramatic.
So if that's 'dramatic' do you conceded any concern with us not being the same offense with a lead as opposed to when chasing a game?
I would say that's the biggest differential in our play, from stopping opposition running on us, to Dak playing his game rather than having to overperform .

Put context for me around Dallas and Miami because I feel like we could call both of them frauds. So, like, what are we supposed to make of them at this point? The biggest issue with both teams is in their offensive line. I mean, Dallas goes into Buffalo, and Buffalo's defensive line comes to life. And they're able to put pressure on Dak. They couldn't run the ball, and it took over the game.

Miami, whenever they play against a good team with a front that creates some problems, there it goes. One of the reasons why Dallas hasn't played well on the road is because I truly believe this is one of my pet peeves in football, bad lines don't travel. When you have a bad offensive line, and you go on the road, you typically don't play well. Now, I think Dallas has an average line, but it becomes below average on the road. And I think Miami's the same thing. When they have to play a good team on the road, that line starts to show up, and they can't really fluff their way through.

https://sports.yahoo.com/one-big-concern-both-cowboys-003854585.html

Score first?

So, when you can hear the snap count, the offense gets on the ball. When you go on the road, it's hard to hear the snap count. You're on a silent count. Your linemen are a little bit more tentative. They don't come off the ball with explosiveness, right? So now, the game is even. The game is even when the snap count is no longer in the favor of the offense-- it then favors the defense. I mean, how many times you've watched games, where the quarterback doesn't change the snap count and the defense gets off on the ball, and they look like they're offside?

Well, that's the quarterback. He hasn't changed the snap count. So now, the defense is rhythm and it gives them the advantage. So, when you're a bad line and you don't have that offensive ability to get the snap count in your favor, it's a problem.

...and penalties.

We need to score first Sunday vs the dolphins. Why? It’s very simple.
  • The Cowboys are 9-0 in games this year when they score first.
  • The Cowboys are 1-4 in games they do not score first.
  • The only time the Cowboys have won this year when not scoring first was in the Chargers game back in October; a game we won 20-17 on the road.
For this reason if the Cowboys win the toss Sunday, I hope they take the ball and drive down the field for some points. Or if Mia wins the toss I hope they defer to the second half. IMO this game is going to require a minimum of 30 points to win against a dolphins team that averages 36 points at home.

Scoring first on the road. It’s step one in winning.
Like Nate Newton said, you can win it all with a team like this, but your offense has to be darn near perfect on execution. Or in our case, darn near perfect in QTR 1.

"We'll see Sunday, but first and foremost it's about our approach and our focus throughout the week, understanding that we've got to turn that up a little bit," Prescott said Thursday. "We gotta do that going into the week to make sure that everything we've done throughout the week carries over. This is a team that prepares the right way, attacks the day the right way and it can't be any different when you go on the road."

"We've just got to come out with the energy and maintain it throughout the game, regardless of the score, regardless of the down. The belief, the emotional discipline, maturity and competitiveness to not blink and enjoy when it's you against the world."

Apparently so. I just wish this team had more fight in them. Remember the '94 Cowboys? They got down 21-0 early. They fought back all game. Our current team would lose a game like that 45-10.
We actually outplayed them the rest of that game in '94 after the disastrous first couple of minutes. But that just goes to show that a span of a couple minutes can be what decides a NFL game.

Sure. Take the big three in the NFC right now, Eagles, 49ers, Cowboys. No matter who plays eachother, spot one of them 21 points and see what happens. It's an uphill climb.

Just like the 1992 championship game. Going into that game I thought the 49ers were the slightly better team playing at home. They made just a few mistakes that cost them that game.

Most of my best friends are Giants fans. During that 1994 championship game one of them said to me, the Cowboys don't give up. I wish I could say that about this Cowboys team. No losses are good, but be competitive.

Fair enough, but generally if they're that much larger, they're usually (and I stress the usually because there's always exceptions), a little slower in relation to you and in general you can get lower while still maintaining your balance and power than they are able. That being said, you need enough strength to be able to do things to them.

Yeah,
Its like part of a checklist of situations in which this team doesn't perform well.
IF...
-Not scoring first.
-On the road.
-Above .500 opponent.
-Get behind by 10.
-Passrush not dominant.
-2 or more turnovers.

This team has not shown the ability to overcome even small doses of adversity like those mentioned above. Lump it ALL under lack of mental and physical toughness.

Today's offensive tackles today, a lot of them have longer arms as well as many are also short yardage as quick. If they get their hands on you, which most do, then there goes the four seconds. Ask Parsons how many times he is actually held until the ball is thrown.
