Scoring Nil

Ironically, you just made the case Dak was atrocious.

This one really threw me too.

If we know opportunities are gonna be limited based on the TOP, ball control nature of our offense then we better make sure we are efficient when those opportunity plays present themselves and not miss badly on every single opportunity that was there to take advantage of.
If the QB is not any good at making wide open plays count when they present themselves, then what do we expect from our QB?

I would like to point out, however, that, when we get into the redzone, Dak's strength is the read option. If the OC wishes, he could have Cooper run a slant to really throw off the defence, but letting Dak run the read option within the 5-10 yardline is actually a good way to use Dak's strengths and get the most out of those possessions. On the FB play, I thought it would've been better to run the read option there on 3rd and 1 since Dak is extremely hard to take down when he starts to run.

Yeah, I'm glad they got rid of that useless Paul Alexander, but Linehan should've followed him out the door along with Kellen Moore.
moore is a pet project for linehan. the guy is useless. he brought him over when he came from Detroit.... I would have rather had Garrett take over play calling duties. he actually has a better feel for play calling than linehan, although he is streaky in certain things.

I don't fancy Garrett calling the plays either, to be honest. There's a reason Jerry yanked it away from him. Pity Jerry never told Garrett to let the OC use his own playbook. I'd rather get a new HC and a new OC to be honest. Though, I suppose for the rest of the season, I'd have to live with Garrett calling the plays to see how he does. At least it removes that excuse from him if something goes wrong offencively.

Here is my take on Dak. I don't know how to measure him because I think Garrett and Linehan are holding him back. I want him to have at least a new OC if not a new HC before we replace him.
"Holding him back"

Sigh.

Well, one of the things I'm referring to is the lack of a Read Option lately. That is one of Dak's strengths, and, especially when we get down between the 1-10 yardlines, it is an important play to use. Yet, for what ever reason, we don't seem to call it, despite Dak having a massive body.

Jerry yanked it away from him when he became a headcoach, because he thought it was too much for him to handle at the time learning to be a head coach and calling plays. I think garrett did a better job than Linehan, althought that may not be saying much. I think everyone agrees we want a new head coach.....but honestly, I would have rather had garrett call the plays instead of Linehan....

Oh, I thought he lost the duties in 2013? Oh well, in any case, let's see how Garrett fares calling the plays for the rest of the season. Linehan should be sacked.

So, I posted a thread about this, but Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United (which, as an AFC Bournemouth supporter, I say keep your bloody paws off of our Howe!) today after an abysmal first half of the season. Meanwhile, Linehan is probably chuffed to still have a job after the nil performance on Sunday.

Against the Colts, Dallas had 292 yards of offense, 19 first downs, and 2 turnovers. Scored 0 points.

In the 74 games in this decade in which a team had 270-315 yards, 18-20 first downs, and 2 turnovers, that team scored an average of 17.5 points in the game.

That's how bad this team is in the red zone.

Yes, and I do blame a good deal of that on the coaches. I think the players could execute better, but the "schemes", if you can call them that, that we use in the redzone are absolute crap.
