Your thoughts?
Mickey said he was spotted a Valley Ranch at sometime. Obviously we have contacted him in some form.
I somewhat know this player, QD, from when he was a Jint, and had the rep for being a human penalty machine. He's the guy I always think of when Dre's penalties get mentioned, despite the dif in position..because it looked like Gragg would NEVER get it. He jumped off sides so much and had so many false starts, Jints fans called him False Start Gragg.
He DID get it together in SF, evidently, or he wouldn't have lasted so long in the league. But he was with the Jints for at least five years. When he was released it was ostensibly for "cap reasons" but he had worn out his welcome in NY, at that time they had just drafted Petigout and were playing several young players and Gragg had been expected to hold the fort - he didn't. I THINK he was replaced by the nfttv Playbook talking head, Glenn Parker.
Not bashing him at all for stuff from five years back.. I really felt for him, and again, he had to have turned things around.
I remember it being said that his multi illegal procedures stemmed from his knowing he wasn't exceptionally quick or explosive, so he over anticipated and jumped off sides a lot. He seemed to be getting it, took a step forward, and then two steps back.
Mickey was just mentioning how TT is the 'best talent' we have at rt. And that's why Bill finds it hard to give up on him. TT is good sized, and can move..just infuriatingly inconsistent. Gragg is big on top, not built for explosion in the lower limbs, like TT is.
Not a guy who was very known for playing well in space...could not play LT, I know that.
But he had to have gotten the penalty issue together with the 9ers..not sure if he started all his years there or not.
A vet journeyman who learned to live and play with his limitations, and not go penalty wild.
Gosh tho, the abuse he took from Jints fans still bothers me...and I keep thinking if this guy could finally 'get it', Dre will.
