The scoop: "I hear about all these traits that Taco (Charlton) has. What are they? He has long arms and 'upside' as a rusher. Is that it? (Derek) Barnett ran faster, worked out better at the combine, plays stronger and has way more production. If Taco had really explosive numbers, that would be one thing, but I don't even think we should be arguing about which guy goes earlier anymore." -- AFC national scout

The skinny (Lance Zierlein): I hope this scout didn't read my draft profile of Charlton, because it sounded like he was basically talking about me. I'm that guy on Charlton. I will readily admit that I expected him to have a more explosive workout at the combine and I've adjusted my grade somewhat since that time, but I still have him as my No. 11 prospect in the draft, while I have Barnett at No. 19. In fairness, I'm a big fan of Barnett's tape and his ability. I just happen to believe that Charlton has the higher upside of the two prospects, but also the lower floor.

I hope other teams think the same.

I agree that Taco has awesome upside, but Barnett is going to be the best pass rusher from this draft. This guy is Strahan reborn.

I really hope there's the Jason Witten effect on him. Teams shy away because of measurables but ignore the pure football player.

Haha yeah Taco is pure projection at this point. I'd have 0 problem taking Barnett before Taco. None.

I'm hoping some 3-4 teams fall in love with the Harris/McKinley/Watt's and a 4-3 team takes Taco, so Barnett falls to us.

Barnett over Taco, but I like Taco.

His workout numbers were very comparable to Joey Bosa. He needs to advance in the technical aspect of the game.

For me, it's all relative. Would I pick Taco Top 10? No way. Would I take Taco at 28 over a guy like Charles Harris? Absolutely. Gimme the guy that projects as a full-time starter over a specialist.

I really hope Derek Barnett drops to our team's pick.

If he drops and selected it would make me feel a lot better going into next season.

We need a good pass rusher over a DB.

Derek Barnett with be a Saint and I hate it. Compare his production against SEC competition to Myles Garrett's.

I just like Charlton's first name and the fact that a day of the week is dedicated to it...

I think Barnett is the better player based on tape.

I'd be shocked if he got past the Bengals...

I hope they are not on our menu Taco and Derek Barnett(both are projects IMO), we need some starting help with DB's and this draft is loaded at the top hopefully the bpa is a DB.

What's the issue with me wanting him a Cowboy?

It's no surprise that he could go early to mid round of the first but that still doesn't hide the fact that the team needs a talented pass rusher in the draft.

I think Charlton's floor is in the basement compared to Barnett.
