Scouting Eagles game my observations

The weed must be really good where you live because you are smoking some serious stuff. The wides couldn't get separation eventhough Mcnabb had a lil time in the pocket. The defense couldn't even get pressure from blitzing. The only shing spot was the running game and B Dawkins. In addition to a bogus pass interference call.

Wait ...I give you numbers/stats and you give me your opinion? BTW, I don't indulge in inebriants of any kind, what's that like?

If he's healthy he won't make the team because he can't stay healthy?

Yeah, I didn't explain that one very well. What I think is that, just because he stays healthy through the preseason, doesn't mean he can be trusted to stay healthy. I also don't think he'll be picked up very fast on the open market, for the same reason. So I think he might become like Dorsey Levens was. Not on the roster, but the first guy to get called if they need someone.

Buckhalter came in and ran 5 times behind the first string offensive line, and none of his carries went for more than 2 yards. I don't know that Mahe's 2 carries are going to give you the best indication of how your team will do over the entire season.

My opinion of the running game is based off the first 3 games, not just last night. Against the Raiders we ran well, vs Browns not so well but we were using our fullbacks and Mahe because of injuries, against the Ravens OK. What impressed me was the push and holes created by the starting O-line. That won't necessarily show up in the stat book considering who was running behind the line.

Not trying to change anyone's mind here. I expect both Eagles and Cowboys fans alike to disagree with my opinions.

McNabb:

Was 6-10 for 97 yards; 1 Touchdown; and zero interceptions

48 of those on a sandlot shovel-pass to Brokenhalter! Yippee! We're scared now! Good luck manufacturing that stuff into an offense!

Buckhalter (HEALTHY):

One reception for 48 yards ...not bad for his debut; and it had nothing to do with penalties! Beasthalter is Back!

Don't forget his 5 carries for 8 yards (with a long of 2!) And that 1 catch of 48 yards made him your leading receiver as well! Good luck getting by on that!

Two receptions for 32 yards

He should get ready, becsause he's the only "receiver" in Philly!

Mahe:

One TD; one fumble (did someone say something about not making the team)

You forgot 2 carries for 14 yards! Canton get ready!

Akers:

Made a 43 yard field goal, right down the middle (one of the best in the NFL)

No doubt he's great but how bad is it when you have to talk-up your team's kicker?

Kearse:

One sack, one forced fumble

Wow! He's already matched half of last year's production! And against "perennial Pro Bowler" Tony Pashos too!

Dawkins:

Recovered a fumble/Dawkins is a beast. Had a couple of passes defended in addition to his fumble recovery.

The best thing in Philly - a great player and consumate pro. Too bad he signed on for more.....

Rayburn:

One sack

McNair got stepped on and Rayburn fell on him! Are you even serious with the garbage you post? Did you actually watch the game?

Eagle Linebackers

Concerns about McCoy, and Jones ...Trotter will be there

Well you're right about Trotter anyway. The others - meh.

Eagle Secondary:

Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard needed to step it up just a Notch

Just a tad. And they might wanna think about covering a guy named Derrick Mason. The only guy in the entire secondary who did anything was Dawkins. That "Sack Exchange" defense got pushed around while the Ravens controlled the ball.

Overall, many Eagles fans that I've spoken to believe that our 1st team beat the Ravens 1st team and would have controlled the game if they played throughout.

Guess I'll have to get me some of those "magic glasses" then because the team that I saw was fortunate they weren't blown off the field!
Good luck living off of screen passes all season - the one play that worked.

And maybe the refs will give you penalty calls for field position and keeping drives alive all season. Otherwise, your team is a cellar-dweller.

And lastly, where was the "depth" that we've been hearing about from the Eagles' faithful?

They better hope that nobody - and I mean nobody gets hurt!

Shroo slapped nothing but his knee! He's having fiun, but you actually tear-up when you speak about closing closets or doors or whatever.

You're also trying to clump the Shroo in as your cohort ...but I'm not so sure about both you and Staheroo saying the same thing. Shroo has substance to his arguments, you just cry about things like ...window closings.

The only window that's closed is your open-mindedness!

Think what you like about the Eagles, we'll stay under the radar ...for now anyway.

My game observation from the Eagles versus the Ravens. On defense,the only way they can get pressure on the quatrback is by blitzing and even so the Ravens still manage to get yards. Brian Dawkins is their best defender by far. He is the only one making plays,outside of him the defense is getting lite up like thunder during a rainstrom. Their running game seems to be the best asset,the OL seems to be opening up some running lanes for the runningbacks. Their passing games seems lackluster,I guess because the wides can't get separation.The longest passing gain was from a bad pass interence call. If their defense continue to play like that our offense will have a field day with all of the weapons we have. Only if our OL holds up against Philly's blitz package. If you watch the game I would like to hear some of your thoughts and opinions. :splat::splat:

Just like with any team the Eagles have concerns, but you can't put much stock in that preseason game. The Eagles 1st team played well against the Ravens 1st team and penalty calls or not we still held McNair to just 3 points. That's the way the Eagles play (with the exception of last year), you may get yards, but your points will be minimal. But again, don't put much stock in what you saw. If you do then that means you TRULY believe Tony Romo would dissect Seattle's 1st team defense in a regularly seasoned game just like he did last week.

C'mon Icy....in the words of Troy Aikman.......GET REAL!
