As a recruiter, Anderson is always on the lookout for new talent. When asked about the qualities he seeks in a player, he explains, “It all depends on different things. When we are looking for receivers, you need them to be guys who have quick feet and late hands… And then, for offensive and defensive linemen, we look at their thick lower legs to see how strong their base is and make sure they don’t get pushed back easily.”

He forgot to explain how you put a jacket on when it’s chilly out….that way you don’t get cold.

Even if you give one family member per year (or even every few years) a chance, the next thing you know it's 20 years down the road and all you have are Jerry's offspring because everyone else has come and gone and they are all here in perpetuity taking up all of the slots one by one...

Did anyone see the draft day war room cam? Did you see our scouts at the main table ready to give an immediate answer or thumbs up/down in those vital seconds we had as the clock was running out as we completed the trade and needed to make that 1st round pick before we passed? Or did you see the Jones clan everywhere you looked?

He probably knows more about scouting and running the team more than anyone on here. All the couch wanna be GM's.
He grew up around it.
Now did he learn bad habits from it. Or did he learn how not to do it the family way.

He is a scout, it is not like he is running the team from the get go.

Nepotism is not new. Sports and other meritocratic activities are supposed to have guardrails against this stuff. Performance and results normally force change.

30 years without an APPEARANCE in a conference game. 7-9-1 following up on 7-10. No 1st round pick on a QB in 37 years.

Nepotism, like incest, is an abomination and the results show it. King Joffrey was that way for a reason!

McClay is Jerry's #1 yes man ....... if that ever changed he would be gone.

What makes McClay a yes man? He presents Jerry with info and Jerry decides what to do with it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a VP of personnel or head of scouting on any team make final decisions. And we’ve absolutely seen McClay stating what he wanted or didn’t in other drafts.
