What I'm saying is hiring family can be like playing Russian Roulette with 3 cartridges in a six cylinder wheel gun and you can't blame family for hiring family in a company run business because they can do whatever they want.

I was getting ready to quit my job when I found out that the owners son was moving to my state and I'd be reporting directly to him. 5 years later, he's one of the best supervisors I've ever worked for the 30 years in my industry. I have no doubt he'll be running the entire company someday. He started working in the business at age 15, served in the Army during the Iraq war over there, and there isn't anything he would ask of anyone that he couldn't do himself because he has done it himself. The guy is good although we're too much alike and my wife can't believe I talk to him the way I do over the phone sometimes LOL

That said, my wife works for a privately owned company for the last 30 years and this company has been around for over 100 years. Company is slowly going downhill because the woman who was supposed to run it (in my wifes opinion) died about 15 years ago and her brother took it over after their mother died. Her brother dosen't have the qualities as his sister did to actually want to make the business better. Just not the same company in my wife's opinion.

Believe me, I've probably seen more kids run their parents business into the ground than kids making the business better. The question becomes how fast can they do it before someone better steps in if the business is indeed going downhill.

Jerry owns the most valuable sports franchise in the world. No doubt his family will be around a very long time even after Jerry is gone.

Thank you Risen. I will quote this forever whenever someone responds to my criticism of the scouting and drafting with “well they make a lot of money to do that so I trust their opinion more than yours” (which happens every year)
I am forever vindicated and validated when I’ve said there were posters here who could do better than the FO. Now we know exactly why that is true. I’d call it a clownshow but I think even clowns require more merit than the Jones’s do.

It's Cowboys fans and brand momentum that makes the Cowboys so valuable. This is in despite of Jones. The Cowboys are losing money from what they should be worth if the franchise wasn't a 30+ year joke.

Now maybe I've been out of the loop and this is news to nobody else but I was today year's old when I found out that little dweeb that's been hanging around the war room for too many years, Charlotte's son, the guy former Zone member boozeman (RIP) dubbed Spalding many years ago, is an actual official scout on the staff. College and Pro. Like he sits in on meetings and pretends he's a legitimate talent evaluator.

I guess "my mom's mom is your wife" was pretty impressive on the resume.
