Championship caliber sports teams are generally known for their ability to find talent through their scouting departments.
I think people give our scouting department WAY too much credit for Tony Romo, Miles Austin, Jay Ratliff...
2004 was a flop, 2005 was overrated, 2006 was a flop, 2007 was a flop, i want to think we did well in 2008, but as much as i like martyb, i think drafting a tight end in the 2nd round was really getting cute at that point, right after we had drafted fasano. we drafted felix in the first, and didn't start him..., 2009 was a major flop.
2010 looks promising but other than getting a steal in dez bryant the jury is out.
I don't think you give credit to scouting departments for hitting on 1st round draft picks. These are supposed to be fairly obvious for professional talent evaluators. You give them credit for later draft picks, and we just haven't been hitting on these picks.
