Vince Young's running ability isn't about top end speed or really his quickness either. It is his strength and elusiveness. I guess he is a bit deceptively fast because with his height he doesn't look like he is going that fast. He is not slow by any means, but he isn't as fast as Michael Vick appears to be. He is more comparable to Randal Cunningham than Michael Vick.

And I agree with everything except the comparison to Cunningham, Randall had a VERY good arm and accuracy, VY has a powerful and can throw farther than just about anyone in CF, but has very little in the way of accuracy. Over half his passes last year were completed to RBs and TEs on short routes.

IMHO Vince Young is not even close to M. Vick at the same stages in their careers. Young can beat you with his feet, but if you make him one dimensional (make him pass), and play solid defense he will beat himself, at least at this stage. Moreover the talent that V. Young has had surrounding him is superior to the talent Vick had at his alma mater. Vick made that team a contender with an inferior supporting cast compared to Young.

Perfectly put in my opinion. Though Vick's arm is called into question in the NFL, I seem to remember him being a pretty darn good passer in the college ranks. And like you said - UT's talent is better than VT's was when Vick was there.

Not to say Young won't have a terrific year this upcoming year - but I think it would be in his best interest to stay 2 years, unless he becomes Manning with his arm.

I was only referring to their running ability. When Young runs it reminds me of a young Cunningham.
