All this set up the run for the pass...No...Romo is an elite QB get him some athletic Tackles, and provide great blocking schemes to get him protection

We are no longer a running team...With Austin...Witten..Bennett...Felix, Williams...Crayton..and O Tree...we need get the ball out

this is a passing league...nobody kills anybody with running anymore..i like Garrets mentality....but get a better scheme, and better protection

stop having Roy run 20 yards down field he cant do it....especially when we have pressure

we should dominate next season, with No holes in our D..i cant believe i am saying that...but we have no holes there...although we could maybe use a faster ilb in nickle type situations

I don't care if Dallas set up the run with the pass or the pass with the run. I do want to see this team be fairly balanced in their offense.

Teams that can run the ball win championships. I know the stats that winning percentage and running the ball show that's not true...but look at teams that win it. They run the ball, and play defense, not throw 50 times a game.

How can you like Garrett's mentality and ask for a better scheme?

That's like telling somebody......

"I like the way you think but hate the way you act".

That disproves your point right there.

Colts- Worst rushing attack in the NFL.

Jets- Have a stifling defense that can shut down the pass, led by a shutdown corner in Darrelle Revis.

Saints- Potent passing attack.

Vikings- Peterson hasn't hit the 100 yard mark in the last 8 games. Favre, not Peterson, is carrying them along with a fearsome defense that pressures the quarterback.

The Jets rely heavily on the run.

That is NOT the idea here.

The idea is to pass to SET UP the run. No where is he stating we need to have un-balance.

You want to have balance, but you pass to set up the run. I believe it is the most effective way to run the ball, yet you always want balance.

Still doesn't change the fact that 3 of the last 4 teams in it rely HEAVILY on their passing attacks and their QB.

I think that depends on the team. The Jets need to run to set up the pass because they are weak in that facet of the game.On the otherhand a team like Indy is better suited to use the pass to set up the run because the pass is their strong suit. But your are correct in saying that some semblance of balance is key.

guarantee you that the team that wins it all will have some good rushing yards in the SB.

It's not about passing well to win. You just have to pass better than the opposition.

I think the odds of you being correct are far greater than the odds of that not happening.

I could see a shoot out if Indy was matched up with the Saints though.

Craig

If it ends up Indy vs Saints then actually the saints are a good bet since they have a stronger running game. With their secondary healing up some and more healthy they have a better chance of holding down the Colts scoring then the colts D holding down the Saints scoring.

That would be the most likely scenario. But if I had to pick a match-up that could turn into a shoot out it would be this match-up.

We MUST be balanced.

When we were on the winning streak, we had excellent balance. Defenses were on their heels and we had our way with them.

When you become one dimensional, you get killed UNLESS you are absolutely GREAT at it AND have a GREAT DEFENSE to back it up.

Of course. I'm not saying it's the best for every team.

But with our team I think it's the best formula...and if I was a coach, I'd do the same thing instead of passing to set up the run.

I agree, with protection Romo is
He doesn't even need much, 2/3 of what Peyton and Brady get would be plenty.

If somehow he slips in the draft, we'd be a fool not to take Brian Bulaga.

It's wishful thinking however.
