Screw TO - Lets talk Dallas - Columbo?

If there was word on how he is doing it would be posted by now. This forum misses nothing because the posters are awesome.

I will say this, I have high hopes his FG blocking abilities will start reversing the high percentage of made FGs against us by him blocking a couple.

I hope so Hos that would definately add a new wrinkle and he is 6'8 so he definately has the height to block them for sure. :)

Any word how he is looking in practice? Game shape yet? Looking rusty? Looking Good?

Tucker has really sent the Flo injury Chicken littles into a tailspin. Props to Tucker - so far

I guess Tucker is doing about as well as Pile/Davis who have sent those FS chicken littles into a tailspin. Props to them - so far.

I agree... Personally I think Tucker is already a better run blocker than Adams.

I have this nightmare where the team we're playing is losing to us with 1 second left on the clock and they are down by 2 points...

They're on their 20 yard-line...

And out comes their field goal kicker.

:)

My sources tell me he has taken Al Johnson's place as the "trained Pig".

Oh great, put that thought in my head so I won't get any sleep.

Isn't he the guy with the parrot? Ooops, that was Baretta! Columbo was the Body building dude.

I think the bodybuilding dude's name was Columbu, if I am not mistaken.
Colombo is a yogurt and a fictional detective with a raincoat

I dunno how he'll turn out, but im optomistic. Parcells thought enough of him to get him even though he probably wont contribute this year. I think after one more offseason he could possibly become a starter or at least great depth, i love these kind of signings.
From a Parcells quote, it sounded like this was something that would take time, that it might not be this year where Columbo gets much PT...

Until Columbo demonstrates anything, this is a low risk-high reward gamble.

Just like Ryan Leaf.

Just like Quentin Coryatt.

Just like Carl Pickens.

You know the name, but the production has never been there.

Terry Glenn?

first on Columbo, Parcells said when he was signed it was more about next yr than him doing anything this yr...said he told him just to get himself ready for 06...thats why they signed him to a 2yr deal

as for the chicken little/ Flo comment, Tucker hasnt been so good to ease my worries about that yet...Bledsoe wasnt really well protected in either the Seattle or Arizona game...it was ok, but not great...and niehter of those teams has elite pass rushes...Tucker and Petitti both still have their work cut out for them

Bertrand Berry for the Cards is a pretty good pass rusher and I felt Tucker did a decent job. I will not argue over Flo being the better player of course he is which is why he was the starter but Tucker has not done a bad job filling in and hopefully he will improve over the course of the season.

Well Tucker was up against Berry who has as many sacks as anyone over the past 3 years so that counts as elite. Having said that, Berry did get two sacks. Pettiti pretty much made Okeafor, a decent pass rusher, a non-factor in that game. It was probably his best game of the year.

he hasnt been bad, but Berry did get two sacks in that game as well...

the bigger problem is you cant really help both Tucker and Petitti, and right now both guys really need help

One sack by Berry though was not on Tucker the other no doubt was. Tucker for the most part was left one on one in the Cards game

Hey, I think Tucker has played well. He's not the pass blocker that Adams is but I'm seriously thinking he's a better run blocker.

You may be right we will just have to see how things go for Tucker in this difficult stretch of games.

Colombo has to be able to contribute more than blocking FGs to get on the gameday roster.

Says who?

If Tucker continues playing well and Pettiti isn't too bad as the year goes along, there's really no reason for Columbo to get time at OT. You need to activate him just in case and if he can block a couple of FG's (not saying he will), I'll take it in the end. Especially since it's apparent the only way freaking kickers will miss against Dallas is if somebody blocks a kick.

Can we suit up Yao Ming?
