Need some opinions please on what to do next. I am trained at Rescue Diver with a few specialties among the mix. I have dabbled in Tech diving(sidemount, cave and trimix) and not sure if I want to do anymore due to the risk.
I am about to start my Divemaster(first professional level) because I get joy out of helping new divers and watching them explore stuff they never imagined. But, this course seems a bit rough, lots of difficult swim tests involved and very time consuming. I am 44 now and not a spring chicken. The freediving test is discouraging me, can't get below 25ft without intense pain in my ears.....they don't equalize properly and I know every trick in the book to equalize.
Any DM's or instructors out there have any suggestions if I should pursue this or just go for master scuba diver?
We are thinking about moving to the Virgin Islands for a year(wife transferred, maybe) and I wouldn't mind working on a dive boat.
