If we trade LA we get the penalty, and Seattle could technically keep LA as long as the contract or cut him with no cap ramifications.

we get the penalty cutting him also...when we cut him next week or this week he will bring us about 3.5 to 4 million in cap space....

if he were traded seattle would only have this year and next year because that is all that is left of his contract...so seattle could trade for him and then restructure it into a one year deal..so they could release him next offseason...

it wont happen anyway, no one in their right mind would trade for him, unless as I said it is the guy they want and dont want to compete with other teams for his service hence driving the price up, then a 6th round pick would be a worthy trade.

josh brown talk ends here.

Hawks screwed themselves. Hutchinson is a once in a decade talent. All to save a mill in cap space or so - that's all they needed to commit to go franchise instead of transition.

no he's not...he's a guard and can easily be replaced...he is a very good one, but he isnt Larry Allen when he was in his prime either (or close to it)

they did the right thing letting him go...you can replace guards...because of this they may well end up with Peterson and Abraham as major upgrades on what was already a pretty good defense that led the league in sacks last yr

I think this may be a move to offer Abraham more money. Its been speculated that the Falcons have offered more cash than the Hawks (they're already offering a higher draft pick). So this may allow that trade to happen.

Seattle should have plenty of money to do just about anything they need to do.

Before the agreement:

Seattle Seahawks $21 M add the $10 M= $31 M.

I'd love to see Allen take less money and ideally play center. If he can shotgun snap, it would be cool to see him protect the pocket. He wouldn't have to run nearly as much and would always get his hands on a defender. No one would bull rush him, that's for sure and he'd have Johnson or Gurode to spell him.

Yeah I know it leaves us with an extra center but it would be cool to see Larry having gotten to the pro bowl at every position on the OL.
