IRVING -- Sean Lee set a record during Sunday's 20-10 win over the Eagles. The weakside linebacker recorded the highest production points score that a Jason Garrett coaching staff has ever given to a defensive player.
On Wednesday, Lee was recognized for his outstanding performance by being named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
"He's a great football player, he really is," Garrett said. "It's great to have him back. It's a long road back for him. He spent a lot of time rehabbing and getting himself healthy enough to play. He did it the right way. He looked at that adversity, stared it down and somehow, someway got himself ready to play again. He has been outstanding the first two weeks."
Lee's final stat line against Philadelphia: A game-high 14 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, two passes defended, an endzone interception and a recovered onside kick.
"He's a robot," Cowboys defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey said. "He understands exactly what is going on. He understands where to be and what position to be in when he gets there. The thing that makes him so special is that he's never content. He's always working to be the best. Guys like that, you got to take your hat off to them, and appreciate those guys in your locker room."
