Sean Lee to Weakside?

I think people have an insanely short memory and when healthy, Lee is not only a coach on the field but a bonafide playmaker. He is easily the best coverage LB on the team.

McClain at Mike is a no brainer but Lee at Will makes too much sense, at Will he is protected so he can just make plays. Carter is actually looking good at Sam is proving to be very good rushing the passer too.

Keep Ro in middle with Sean and Bruce flanking him so Cowboys can concentrate on fixing other areas that desperately need the attention

Players are worthless if that can't play in games. He could be a monster, but not on the sidelines season after season.

McClain, Carter and Durant are free agents after the season.

Nobody is forgetting that Lee is a great player when healthy. The question is if he will ever stay healthy.

No one thought McClain could still play either but Cowboys fortunately took a chance. Football is a violent sport, even the best players get hurt. Getting grid of your best players when it happens is a recipe for disaster, especially when the injury is not career threatening and the player is in his prime.

Carter will not need big money because he is not a big time player, neither is Durant, a career journeyman. Not smart to jettison assets when you do not have to.

So get rid of anyone who gets hurt??? Cowboys would have to get rid of half the team every season. Smh

I believe it's a one year deal, they may have to cough up some cash to keep him.

Talk about a conundrum. Even if he balls out all year you still have a guy with a whopping one year where he wasn't a complete headcase. Who wants to invest in that?

But how do you let him walk if he plays great all season? Some guys learn from their past. Don't look the gift horse in the mouth.

That's a tough call. I'm confident Jerry will make the wrong decision.

When Sean Lee returns, do we move him to the weakside, and then Durant to the strong side?

Thoughts?

(assuming McClain continues to play well)

either weakside, or middle somewhere is....... assuming McClain continues to play well & not loose his mind.

Where did I say get rid of him? But he has to play to be a help no?

If you think Lee is worthless, even on the sidelines, then u have not been paying attention. It was Lee that worked with Durant and Hitchens to learn the position. Would not be surprised if he did NOT work with Ro as well. Everyone, every coach, ever player, speaks about their admiration and respect for him because he gives his all on the field and off. Lee was considered the best D player and playmaker on the team last season, a team with future HOFer Demarcus Ware and pro bowl bound Jason Hatcher.

The hate towards this player is insane.

Never said I hated the guy either, geeze. He's not your best defender if he can't play, it's that simple. If he's great on the sidelines give him a whistle.
He would be huge to have this season but we won't. Has he played a whole season? I don't remember.

Carter has played better but I still see him hitting the wrong gaps at times. He is much better at rushing the passer than I thought he would be.

I wouldn't be counting on Lee for anything next year,,, but I get your point, McClain looks like the real deal at MLB.

"Rolando McClain signed a 1 year / $700k contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including an annual average salary of $700,000."

I'm sure I am missing something, so feel free to correct me but a few things don't add up. The post above mentions an "annual average" salary, which implies that there was more than one year. Also, the fact that we obtained him via trade rather than as a free agent signing would imply that he had a standing contract with Baltimore. I do understand that he had retired, but I believe that when he returns the original contract is still in effect unless Baltimore terminated it?

As the post above mentions, it's just auto-generated from the site.

There were thought on that already to protect him.

also
I think Carter may end up being a better SAM than Durant.

The Ravens signed him to a 1-year, 700K contract in April of 2013. Because he didn't play in 2013, they retained his rights and the contract then applied to 2014. When he was traded to the Cowboys the contract comes with him.
