That's OK because Marinelli's defense is designed such that the LBs are the brains of the unit.

He designed it to such that the DL don't have to think as much as DL in some other schemes. By doing that it pushed more of the thinking back to the LBs.

The LBs actually have to react to what the DL are doing. For example, if the DE crashes down inside, the LB has to be aware of it and maintain outside contain.
And that's why #54 looked so non committal in that packers game for sureo_O I didn't see a whole lot of blame in that Rams goat **** in his direction,,, that's SLAPPED on that square forehead of #10:mad:

:starspin::thumbdown::starspin:

EDIT: I was impressed with JG's call on putting #11 in to field punt returns at the proper critical time of game clock management in the K.C. game.

Im on the board with this but finding a Lee in every draft? I dont think so.

Got to start somewhere. We got lucky with finding Romo's replacement. We shouldn't expect we'll be that lucky with Lee's replacement by waiting till the last moment.

It is a reflection of the leadership. If the leaders are saying it, then the followers start believing it. This is not a talented enough group all around to start thinking they are elite.

I love Lee to death and he is an outstanding player. But this kind of talk is a little silly to do in the middle of the season.

Yes, KC is a good team, but this is not the time to be crowning anything "championship level defense".

You do that like we were performing in Phillips' next to last year when they were posting shutouts.
Sean Lee could learn so much from you about defensive perspective and how to stay focused throughout the long season.

I wish there was some way he could see your post.

Nah, don't agree.

With a healthy Lee, and our DL, we have a championship caliber D. Remember the Giants, 2008 and '11? Irving is a killer, and DLaw is the DPOY, fan vote or otherwise, thus far. MCollins hasn't event gotten started yet. Crawford is there. Our DL is elite this year. ELITE.

Our OL is meshing, now. It all hangs on Zeke, even with some of our WRs suffering ankles. Dak doesn't rely on any single WR.

Trouty I love your enthusiasm!

I see the young guys getting better... HOWEVER, I REALLY wish Anthony Brown would NOT peak at the QB and play his man!!!!!

If only this franchise took the 1 tech position seriously so Maliek Collins wouldn't have to keep playing garbageman.

I like the confidence, but lets not count the chickens yet. we have two top notch offenses to deal with back to back.

I take his word....like Jason Witten, he's not a player that does a lot talking, so when he talk.......I'm listening. No one outside Martinelli probably has a better read on this D than Lee ( including Garrett )......
