Sean Lee's draft replacement - LOGAN WILSON

Seems like a good prospect. I am hoping he can be had in 4, but we will see. No one expected us to take a g in 3 last year, but he was the highest player left on the board

i'm not giving up a premium 3rd round pick for a strong side LB. that's gotta be a guy that's on the field at all times, ..and generally we're not likely to see
strong side LBs on the field in nickel downs.

If a Logan Wilson drops in the 4th maybe ... otherwise i'm really wanting to fill that heir apparent in the late rounds such as the 5th round, with one of our
two 5th round picks. Fourth would be the highest i'm targeting a pick for the strong side LB.
But i'd prefer a 5th rounder for a groomer.

Logan Wilson is way more then just a strong side LB. He has the ability to be a 3 down player. Heard ESPN state he may even be a sleeper in rd 1. Most project him as a 3rd rd prospect, but he is definitely rising. He is projected as a starting caliber LB, if the team drafted him in the 3rd rd, would have zero issues with the pick. I prefer not to take a high LB, but it's looking like the team wants to add another high-level player at the position.

Plays like Sean Lee. His mini-me. Same height and weight but faster. Check out LB Logan Wilson and tell me what you think? 3rd or 4th rounder?

LB Logan Wilson is #30 in the video highlights...

Huge fan. Him and Brooks are my favorite LBr targets in the draft and both can likely be had in the 3rd or later. Incredible value picks that I think can be quality starters within a few years

Now an LB in the middle rounds I can get behind. I really like Wilson, who isn't just a SPARQ freak like Mark Nzeocha was, who we also drafted out of Wyoming. Wilson actually has the instincts and production along with the athletic traits.

Day 3 to land him is a pipe dream though.

Yup. If we want him it has to be the latest round 3. Wouldnt shock me if he went in round 2 honestly

I hear you loud and clear bro, but just watch some film on this kid. He can play, has stayed healthy all 4 years of college, has good build with very good athletic ability, is a tackling matching and is also very good a catching interceptions. Oh, he's also very smart (study wart both on and off the field) and a proven leader.

If he has no holes in his game then he'll likely go higher than expected. The only thing that keeps smaller school players from being drafted early is if there are questions about their ability to play on this level.

"Film"
Watching a highlight video is not "watching film".
Film implies coaches film, not broadcast video.
At least watch full games of broadcast video and not highlights.

Sean Lee
Lee didn't play Strong Side LB until 2019 and he moved back to WLB when LVE got injured.
Lee was noticeably better when he moved back to WLB than he was at SLB.
Lee had a 37.5 vert vs 32 for Wilson. Lee was better in the 3-cone, SS and 10-yard split.
I'm not certain that Lee ran his best forty considering that he was coming back from a blown out knee during his final college season.

Wyoming
Cowboys 7th round pick in 2015, LB Mark Nzeocha played at Wyoming. He looked like a future super star in highlight videos. He didn't do much with the Cowboys and has 3 total career starts in the NFL.

Logan Wilson
I'm not against Logan Wilson. He appears to be a solid prospect; however, calling him a Sean Lee clone either means that you are uninformed or that you are over-hyping him in order to get attention.

Wilson will most likely be a 3rd round pick. He would be a great value pick if available in the 4th.

I'm not surprised you can't see the similarity in play between Sean Lee and Logan Wilson.

I think he is a really good player and would help this team in the long run. He won;t be there in the 4th round. If he is the BPA in 3 then take him.

Just watched two cutups on him and I like what I saw. Clearly a good athlete and knows what he's doing out there. Then I looked up the metrics and those check out too - 4.63 speed, 60th percentile athlete, and he cleared the magic 4 solo tackles/game threshold you want to see in three different seasons.

Predicting him to go in the first round seems extreme. I did a group mock draft the other day where Kenneth Murray came off the board at like #25, and he's twice the athlete that Wilson is with a long track record of production himself. But if I was looking for an LB, I'd keep an eye on him in the late second or third.

I agree that Wilson will be gone by our fourth-round pick. If we want him, we take him round 3, at the latest. And, it would not surprise me at all if we took Wilson in round 3.

Also, I firmly believe that if we invest a day-one or day-two pick into a conventional, off-ball LBer, like Wilson, that Jaylon moves to the SAM/DPR spot.

I would bet my house that if we draft Chaison, Baun etc. early, the only off-ball backer you will see is someone late, but if we don't go EDGE in the first two rounds, we go off-ball LBer in round 3.
