Sean Needs To Retire

Not sure about that. Other players suddenly retire who have had head trauma over and over again. If a player is smart (and Lee is insanely smart), he might decide not having migraine headaches for the rest of his life is a price he doesn't want to pay. Long term health affects are a reality for most. Look at former players like Aikman and Dorsett for the Cowboys. They will tell you being concussed is a long term problem. I don't think he will retire mid season, but I can see it being something he looks at this off season for sure.
Like I said, he's not at that point yet. This is not a chronic thing with him yet. Only he knows how severe this is. If he retires we will know more, but at this point I don't see anything happening. He will probably be back in a couple weeks.

I noticed as soon as he left, Murray catches a 30 yard pass.

I get a feeling that when Lee is off the field, McClain has no idea what to do or where to go.

What's it going to be then, eh?

How on earth did he figure it out last year then?

Looking back a wek two in Phiily, Lee had 14 or so tackles and a int I the end zone....you could argue he was. The reason we won that game. We are a different tea without him.

I don't know he's had a couple of concussions this season, but other than that's he's held up okay... I mean what do you expect, you saw the blow he took to the head, that would have concussed just about anybody... Now if the concussions continue to mount, then we have a real problem, but I don't see what happened tonight as being a good example of him being made of glass...

Have you seen every other year of his career?

There's always one injury or another. The sad truth is that those mentioning him not having the body to handle NFL level punishment are absolutely right.

All of the creatine and protein in the world isn't going to change the fact that Sean Lee has the genes of a Captain America before picture. He can build himself up all he wants on the outside, but the insides are of a guy weighing about 175 lbs.

Sean Lee faces an incredible dilemma

Continue to play the game loves with the side benefit of being paid well to that job

vs

Deal with quality of life issues after his career is over.

I wonder how many concussions he has had. In 2013 his season was ended due to neck and head injuries. It's not the part of the body you want to accumulate a whole lot of wear and tear.

Sean Lee has always been one of my favorite Cowboys. Was just such a great football player when he was healthy. Instinctive, athletic, disciplined, playmaker, great tackler, could run with the best of them, didn't miss assignments, and just a joy to watch.

It's clear though this season some of his injuries have taken a toll on him. He hasn't been the same player. He's missed tackles he ordinarily makes. Overran plays. Been trucked at the second level. Now he has another concussion. His second of the season.

At some point he has to realize his body just can't hold up. As great as he has been when healthy some guys just can't hold up in this league. Retire Sean before you cause long term damage to yourself. I think he'd make an excellent linebackers coach for the Cowboys. He's always been an outstanding leader and somebody that players can aspire to be like as far as his character and how he approaches the game of football.

Best thread on the board this morning. Sadly, he won't.

Here's the problem: we have so many other positions we need to draft of need that we can't afford to have him retire.

Complete exaggeration.

As is your reply.

During the 2008 season - Romo broke the little finger on his right hand.

October 25, 2010 - Romo suffered a broken left clavicle.

Sep 20, 2011 - A CT scan revealed one fracture to Tony Romo's ribs.

December 22, 2013 - Romo suffered a herniated disc in his lower back.

October 27, 2014 - Romo suffered another back injury, injured his transverse process.

Dec 5, 2014 - Tony Romo said he had been playing through a broken rib for the better part of two months.

September 20, 2015 - Romo suffered a broken left collarbone.

Lol what? Did you really just say that? I love Lee, Romo has at least played full seasons before and has only missed significant time in two.

Ok, Romo isn't injury prone when it comes to missing games. He loves to play with a broken rib, a bad back. etc. Fun stuff.

lol, because there isn't a pattern that involves Lee and injuries. He's actually hurting the team by continuing to play. We need to start developing guys who can take his place. When we need him, he's not there.

McClain did well yesterday, he took out Lee and Hitchens on 2 plays.

I agree, unfortunately. Tremendous talent, just cannot hold up.
