Sean Payton cites Caleb Williams as reason NFL will adopt draft lottery

Doubtful.

Draft lottery fits in the NBA, doesn't in the NFL.

Williams is a blue chip prospect, but I don’t think he’s better coming out of college than Luck, Lawrence, etc.

And I don’t think the NFL has any desire to do a lottery from an ownership perspective so it’s DOA.

He’s a completely different player than those guys, and I would bet he ends up better than them, too.

Perhaps so. Luck made the Pro Bowl 4 years out of 6 and looked great until injuries and his desire to play took precedent. Lawrence has had some growing pains.

All depends on what team Williams ends up landing on. Have to figure that Houston won't be in play for a QB in 2024 and either SEA or DET will probably take Stroud. Never know what will happen next year as even though teams like IND and CAR will need QB's, they might punt a year or you can have teams like TB or GB that might suddenly go belly-up even more than this year.

From a physical standpoint, big play ability, and on-field decision making, Caleb is as good as it gets. He seems like a great kid and a model citizen. About as close too a sure thing as they get.

I think he's a bust. Something about his post-game interview after the Tulane game is rubbing me the wrong way. Painting obscenities on his fingernails and jumping ship to USC with Riley are secondary concerns. I just don't think his coach is developing him properly from a mental standpoint and have a feeling that being called on to be a leader of men at the next level will be too big for him.

Maybe the NFL adopts a lotto system, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

Caleb appears to be a more polished Mahomes but I am not sure if he has his arm strength. Time will tell. Caleb has a good chance to win a 2nd Hiesman trophy.
