Are we ruing the day we let him go yet? I've said it many times before and I will say it again. The guy is an amazing coaching talent. Yes. The players execute. However, the catalyst behind getting the proper mix of players together and motivating them to perform at an elite level is Sean Payton. I believe he left versus us actually getting rid of him but the end result is the same. We let one get away. I can recall a plentiful number of people on the board turning a cheek at any mention of having lost something special in Payton. Perhaps those folks are now seeing thing a little clearer.

he's not that different than Jason Garrett

young, considered to be a brilliant offensive mind

yet Payton never had the success as soon as Garrett has had

Well for one thing Peyton calls a lot of the shots if not all over there, in Dallas Jerry would be smothering him out of his success...

Sadly, you are correct.

If Parcells had retired a year earlier, Payton would probably be our HC right now.

Oh well, movin on...

I swear there are so many on here that are going to cry in their pillow tonight and have nightmares about Drew Brees throwing rocks at them.

The Saints are good. But lets not act like they are just gonna hammer us.

We are a heck of a team too and with our defense/pass rush I feel good about our chances against them.

Payton is only successful because of Brees and his work ethic. If Brees half-arsed it, then the Saints would be an average team. However, Brees busts his tail with his preparation and it shows on the field every game.

Not sure what you mean by that...

How lucky he is that Culpepper CHOSE Miami. Neither player wanted to be in New Orleans at the time. And both teams wanted Culpepper over Brees.

A young Payton eseentially got turfed out of NY and into Dallas.

Dallas was still in rebuilding mode when NO came calling and Parcells wasn't ready to turn over the reins just yet. That happens in life.

Garrett may yet improve - I think he needs to stop playing favourites and get our best players on the field more and scheme to get them the ball more in favourable situations. This means the offense should be run through Felix and Choice and not Barber.

.

Actually I think they are going to hammer us.

Its not like they haven't owned us for the past several seasons before they decided to be superheroes this year.

How quickly people forget the last two seasons when the Saints missed the playoffs. He hasn't done anything yet so let's chill on what might have been on Sean Payton.

December 19th will be the rain-x on the windshield of the Cowboys bandwagon.

I think it takes a great combination at the HC and QB spots. They have it.

And you've forgotten they were one game away from the superbowl not that long ago.

I really don't even care if they hammer us. They are not in our division and that is not the goal right now in beating the Saints. The goal is to win in New York on Sunday and then worry about winning the division and getting a home playoff game. People are so worried about the Saints right now and I don't really understand. I would rather get beat by them now and then play them again in the playoffs and beat them.
