Dak is not Mahomes or Brady but there have been plenty of average or below average quarterbacks lead a team to the big dance, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, even Joe Namath in the big picture wasn't considered great and there are 1/2 dozen others who weren't as good as Dak or Romo for that matter numbers wise. This team has all the ingredients to make a serious run if we play to our strengths and do not make mistakes/turnovers, Jerry was right to call out Dak, he has 9 INt's in 8 games this year, he only had 10 in 16 games in 2021, we need Dak to not force the ball, play smarter take a loss or run for 4 yards and slide but don't force the ball into coverage, you don't find that open guy throw it away. Our offensive strength this year is our running game by far, control the line of scrimmage the pass will be there at some point, we seem to be doing better on the penalty's, we have a top 3 defense and a very good special teams' unit, we have play makers everywhere you look and we have a top 6 or 7 QB "IMO" who just needs to manage the game and not make mistakes.

No it doesn’t.

The season comes down to the team playing good football down the stretch. If we want to make a playoff run we also need more talented teams (Phi, SF) slipping.

My biggest concerns in the playoffs are pass protection, WR play and run defense. If we end up losing I have a strong feeling one or all of those will be the primary reason. Dak can’t win or lose in the playoffs by himself.

That's a good analysis but let's be honest.

There will be no managing the game against Philly or KC or Buffalo down the road. You will flat-out have to keep up because nobody is shutting those teams down and then to come full circle you are exactly right. It will come down to Dak and you have to be honest with yourself, can we win a shootout with Dak?

season comes down to our defensive ability to stop the run. do that, and we will have success....don't do that and we will fail.

I know you are going all the way back, but if you look more recently, say the last 20 years, there are very few average or below average QB's to make it to a super bowl. And at best only one to win a Super Bowl, and that's if you count Brad Johnson who was 3rd in passer rating the year they won it, so he was at least efficient that year.

I think the season comes down to Moore. If he can just control his Garrett-like infatuation with passing the ball and let the running game control the clock then the defense should do the rest.

I can understand if the Cowboys are down by a couple scores in the second half. Other then that, if the Cowboys passed the ball more than 30 times that's on Moore.

To make it to the Super Bowl, Dak is likely going to have to play 3-4 clean games.

Is anyone really confident he can do that?

I'm not.

Ideally, yea. But we also need the OL to show up and WRs to actually get open.

Stafford threw 3 picks in the playoffs last year and wasn’t exactly clean during their run. Not the blueprint just saying.

Huh? There are a bunch. Eli, Flacco, Grossman, Foles, Ryan, Newton, Kapernick, Goff. Hades, Bortles was kept out of the super bowl by some horribly suspicious calls.

If you think most of those guys are average your are high. Eli will be in the hall of fame most likely for gods sake.

Those guys all won titles led by the defense and a running game. The big thing they didn't do was commit stupid turnovers. Totally agree with that aspect re: Dak.

I don't care what he's paid. $40 million won't turn him into Mahomes. Lean on the run and the defense, but Dak absolutely has to stop with the weekly pick (or two).

If a season comes down to your QB you’re probably not going to get very far and you’re not that good a team. Aaron Rodgers has only won one championship, because too many seasons came down to him. Dan Marino never won a championship because seasons came down to him.
