They got some pressure but the run defense was not good. The Giants with McAdoo running the offense are difficult to get pressure on. They are very focused on getting the ball out quickly.

I think Dallas got 2 QB hits. One was a sack and the other was another pressure. I remember a few times they got back there but Eli just calmly stepped up and avoided it and got an easy completion. There was hardly any pressure today at all.

the giants ran a dive play on 3rd and long so the clock would run. They did not get a stop. Getting stop is making them go 3 and out.

It was a bad day for the defense.
The Giants didn't just fall down intentionally on 1st and 2nd down to end up in 3rd and long.

How many times did the Giants sack Dak?

Not going to give up on the season just yet, now if the Skins give us a beat down in Washington next week and we are 0-2 with both losses in the division, then it might be time to start worrying.

Besides, isn't it only like 20% of teams that make the playoffs after an 0-2 start? So this thread will be more appropriate next week if we lose to the Skins, then it will be like an 80% chance the season is over.

The Giants had the lead on that stop. When we had the lead with just over 6 minutes to play we couldn't stop them from scoring the go ahead TD. After they went up by one they forced us to punt on our next possession. On the Giants final possession they were just trying to milk the clock and force us to use all our TO's. They left us with only 1:05.
HCs hate leaving over a minute with only a 1 point lead.

Not sure what this has to do with the Cowboys lack of pressure.

Giants hit Dak much more than we hit Romo. I believe at one point, they had 7 hits. They dialed it up in the 2nd half.

they ran straight ahead while we were trying to stop them. It was ridiculous. the third down play they did dallas a favor. they could have converted on 4th down.

not sure if you could see it on tv but beckham was super mad after the third down call. he was jumping up and down and barking at the sideline.

The giants had a gameplay, they executed it and beat us at our supposed own game.

its probably going to happen over and over in the coming weeks.

They do but that was the situation the Giants were in they were trying to avoid a turnover. HCs hate turnovers a lot worse. What the Giants had going for them is we had a rookie QB trying to bring us back with very little time left on the clock and no TO's.

They spent big on defense and didn't rack up sacks or INTs. Our rookie QB hit our receivers in the hands with the ball often enough to win if they could hold on to it.

if something else works for another team, bet they stick to it. While if it works for us, we abandon it at all costs

It was 1 bonehead play/player from being a comeback.

Not yet. But starting 0-2 in the division will just about be it.

you dont win on sacks. you dont win in ToP, you do win with the most points. see what teh score board does there. you ll never see a scoreboard factor in stats. You will however see it factor in points. So if the cowboys shoot for fgs and time of possession but the other team goes with touchdowns. well, you saw what teh score board did there.

I'm not arguing Dak. My beef is this defense not getting any pressure at all. And that goes to Marinelli's refusal to do anything besides the most vanilla defense you can dial up. Rush 4 and drop 7. Any QB with a pulse can beat that more often than not. When we did blitz, it flustered Eli. But then we went away from it. Maddening.

He still thinks he is playing with the 2002 Tampa defense talent wise.

That goes both for the Giants offense and defense, one boneheaded play either way could have cost them. Unfortunately the boneheaded play came from us.

Yes, I would prefer more blitzing; although the Giants are really focused (as much as any team, IMO) on getting the ball out quickly.

I actually think the Cowboys might have over-focused on pass rushing at the expense of run defense.

Oh George...there should be such a thing as deleting pathetically shallow and over reacting threads that have zero insight and contribute nothing, only serving as a medium for whinners.
