Seattle and Atlanta interested in Terrell McClain

This is where the BPA stuff gets comical to me. If we go into the draft with only Thornton as a 1 tech how do we not draft a 1 tech in the first few rounds? Assuming we don't sign a free agent? Going into next year with Thornton and a low round rookie would be beyond stupid.

We already have our starters at DT with Collins and Crawford. Have Thornton as the backup. I think Irving stays at LDE so that'll leave one spot open at DT.

Collins isn't a 1 tech. We have to stop forcing guys into positions they don't play at their best.

He's played both already and did fine at 1 tech. In the games McClain didn't play Collins played there and looked great. You're not going to pay Crawford 9 million to stay on the bench and Collins is definitely a starter. One things for sure Crawford is not a DE.

McClain missed one game so I don't get where Collins played so well at 1 tech. He's a 3 technique who doesn't handle double teams well. And Crawford can def stay on the bench because we rotate guys anyway. Starting 3 tech should be an open competition

LOL this place is pretty much asking for a nearly all new defense next year.

Throw a reasonable deal at McClain and hope he takes it.

He flashed enough that somebody will throw money at him, just hope we look to the draft instead. He hasn't been consistent enough or available much in my book. I was expecting a big impact from him in the playoffs but he was a non-factor. Maybe he came back from injury too soon, in any event we already paid Thorton so I doubt we spend anymore on him...

I think the Cowboys are only "lukewarm" on the guy.

He played well in '16 for the most part but offering him a 4 year deal could backfire with his injury history.

Very true, but it's a tough decision on him either way. He played well last year and I'm not sure who would play 1T if he left.

IMO, T McClain in not appreciated enough by the fans. He was the cornerstone of the D-line last season. The man has a right to get paid. If that means giving him what they gave Thornton then do it.

It's funny that people will cut down McClain - the starter - while nobody wants to talk about what Thornton - a backup - is being paid.

But yeah, sure, we'll just plug in the guy who barely got on the field last year. No problem.

What "games" were they? Can you list those "games"? Thanks!

When you're as stacked as we are on the defensive side of the ball pretty much everybody would be expendable.
