Seattle is getting our love! Dallas, not Seattle, was the 1st team to school Smith!

Yeah, but they're making it sound like it was an impossible task. We did it right before the Playoffs when Carolina was in full postseason swing.

we all tend to talk about the topic at hand, not all of it's past.

it's why everyone wanted vince young on our team after the bowl game now we don't hear about him much as a cowboy.

it's the shiney object syndrome.

Is that why I have a hankering for the rookie LB wearing #51 who plays for the Seahawks? Sure wish the Boys had him instead of Burnett....

That's is how it works, the teams winning and making post-season get all the love and those who miss it get picked apart. Just the way it is. I don't take it personally.

Yep.

What glory and fun is it to give props to a bunch of guys sitting on the Couch eating potato chips like the rest of America.

I cant get worked up over this, bigger fish to fry....

Actually, to be fair, NE was the first team to shut him down, and GB did an even better job than we did.

For the record ... Steve Smith's catch/yardage total

Wk 2 - New England ... 4-34

Wk 4 - Green Bay ... 2-12

Wk 10 - NYJets ... 3-34

Wk 12 - Buffalo ... 3-55

Wk 16 - Dallas ... 1-18

More than a few teams shut Steve Smith down. Still, he's one of the best WR in the league, if not the best right now.

Uhmm Seattle is going to the superbowl. They're supposed to get all the luv.

That said, people was charging up Dallas all week saying that's how you have to play Smith. Alot of people talked up Newman in particular.

Seattle successfully implemented Dallas' game plan with a couple of twists. So what's the problem again?

Yea, but the Cowboys never seem to get any...LOL A little off topic, but I was watching the NFL channel last week and saw a comercial for a 40th annivesary DVD with highlights of all the previous Super Bowls and they showed two snippits of the Cowboys...Remeber, the Cowboys have been to 8 Super Bowls and have won 5, but what do they show...the Jackie Smith drop in the end zone in Super Bowl XIII and the Leon Lett play from Super Bowl XXVII.

I don't know what is actually on the DVD, but that comercial was done on purpose.

Well, I haven't looked at all of the stats...but it could be that they were running effectively or had good leads in those games and didn't need to throw the ball in those games ??? Who knows ?

I'm kind of glad Seattle did stop him. Smith is an awesome reciever, but he is a jerk.

Well, at least we all know he gets upset when things don't go his way. :D

Yeah Seattle will get the love. But I wonder if Holgrem called Bill for a few pointers? Bill has alot of repsect for Holgrem and I could actually seeing them having a conversation on shutting down Smith.

you stop a guy, but lose the game. You're not going to get the love.

Outside of one 35 yarder, the Washington Commanders shut Alexander down in week 4 also. He ended up with under 100 yards, but if he didn't get that big run, he would've ended up with 50-60 yards for the day.
Alexander has a tough time running against battle tested teams such as the teams in the NFC East.

True, I've never seen Alexander put up his crazy numbers, or even good numbers, against tough defenses. I was impressed by his game yesterday but overall, I still think he's a little soft.

I don't mind people not talking about us. I prefer it. The only time I want anyone to talk about Dallas is if we win the SB. Underestimation is a powerful advantage.

I did notice a few times last night where they said that Seattle is the only team to have shut Smith down...

Most of these announcers don't do their homework it appears... it is easy to catch them almost weekly...
It was the same crew that covered our game.

Troy and Buck, all fluff, no substance...

During one of the first plays of the game, Aikman said the Cowboys shut Steve Smith down and even got him so angry that he got himself tossed out of the game.

I think Troy and stale and boring like most but he did say that though.
