Seattle Lost

Yes, "right" - with our struggling D and having to face Giants, Bucs, Lions, and Eagles, this final stretch could be tough.

If we drop 3 games down this stretch, and one of them is to the Giants, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get that bye. But unlike most, I couldn't care less about homefield advantage or that bye. Just get into the playoffs.
Needing to win 2 games in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl is MUCH less of a hurdle than having to win 3 - so, most of us care a LOT.

The next two weeks of games for us and the Giants are crucial. We can really lock up home field w 2 wins and Giants losing two.

And the Giants to go undefeated.

That's not actually a requirement for them to win the division and #1 seed, but we have to lose at least 3 of our last 5 and if they beat us they could lose 1 game we'd both be 12-4 and they'd have 2 wins over us thus beat us out, if we lost 4 including a loss to them they could lose 2. In no way am I predicting that to happen, just saying it's possible.

They don't have to, we could technically go 3-2 and still lose the division, if we go 2-3 and they lose 1 game and they beat us we still lose the division. The race is not over yet.

The only way that could happen if the Giants will all their remaining games. That is not going to happen. No way the Giants finish the season on a 11 game winning streak. They have a few tough remaining games.

Cowboys get to 12 wins then the NFCE is a lock and so is a 1st rd bye. If they get to 13 wins and they will definitely have HFA.

the Bucs have the most difficult strength of schedule of ALL teams from week 12.

That is almost entirely due to one game (Dallas), if accurate. On the whole, Dallas' schedule is easily tougher.

Just looking, TB faces teams that are 29-26 (counting NO twice - 19-25 removing Dallas). Dallas faces teams with over 32 combined wins, so Tampa certainly does not have the toughest SOS.

The 2007 NY Giants went 11-1 on the road on their way to a championship.

that included 11 in a row.

But you have sunday ticket most likely and knew that and we are going to win 85-0.

Wondering if Stephen A Smith still thinks Seattle is better than Dallas (or if he comes up with some other NFC team)?

Doesn't matter who's the better team now, it's who's better come playoff time. We beat them in 2014 during the regular season but they ended up in the SB.

Only game that didn't go the way I expected so far. I was suprised.

Seriously do you read? I just explained in the post you quoted how the Giants DON'T have to win out to win the division. If we get to 12 wins the Giants can lose once, beat us and win the division at 12-4 (they win tiebreaker) If we get to 13 wins they would have to win out.

The more appropriate thing to say is we will have to lose multiple games for the Giants to win the division, most likely lose more games than we win which is UNLIKELY.

Remaining Giants Schedule:

Pittsburg
Dallas
Detroit
Philadelphia
Washington

That looks pretty tough to me

Our schedule isn't much easier.

We play:

Vikings - who have been in a slump but still a good team with a strong defense.
Giants - who have the 2nd best record in the NFC and are the only team to beat us.
Bucs - who just beat the Seahawks today.
Lions - who are 7-1 in their last 8 games.
Eagles - who almost beat us and are a division rival with a great defense.

If we win only 2 and lose 3 and the Giants beat us, they could lose a game and still win the division. It's unlikely, but I disagree that they are no threat at all. They're the biggest threat left.

The only way they are a threat is if they win out which is not going to happen. A 2 game lead is huge with only 5 games left in the season. Every team remaining on the Giants schedule has something to play for and IMO they will be doing good to finish with 10 or 11 wins.

That means the Giants will have to win out...do you really think they will win another 5 games before we lose 2

No I do not, but it's not impossible. If we lose 3 or more though we could lose the division, again UNLIKELY BUT POSSIBLE.

Exactly. Why do people not understand this? Regardless if they sweep the Cowboys, the numbers are not in their favor.

You can keep saying that all you want but it's not true, they do not have to win out to win the division.

Simple math we have 10 wins we could go 10-6 they can go 13-3, won't happen but if we lose 3 or more they can lose a game and win the division. It's not hard to understand.
