i just watched the '06 rose bowl again and i remember thinking that the longhorn secondary was the best as a unit i have ever seen.

all of the starters on that unit are starters in the nfl now so my question(being a biased longhorn fan) is this:

would you, position for position, replace our guys now for those guys?

on a side note michael griffins' twin brother marcus isnt as good as his brother but the guy can play and lead the team with INTs and tackles in '07 and i think would be a good pick up but thats just me.

I'm a BIG Longhorns fan.

I'd take Michael Griffin over anyone we have at either safety position. Other than that, I wouldn't replace anyone else.

Aaron Ross is a good corner, but I think Mike Jenkins will be at least as good and probably even better.

do you think that there might be an arguement to say that because all those players worked so great together and complemented each other so well and are so familier with each other and they won a championship in college together...that if they were all on the same team again, that they would be as they were in college, one of the fastest most dominate secondaries in the game?

Looking great in 1 a college game and playing as an unit, does not necessarily means it will translate into the NFL.

they looked great and were dominate all season the rose bowl is just what reminded me of how great they were.

but yeah i know it doesnt mean it would translate. but they all have at least three seasons in now and they have at least decent individule stats as nfl players.

i know we will never know for sure but i just wonder if that unit was together again if it would be as good as any other unit in the nfl or if they would be the best.

im just a fanatic maybe but i would love to see them all on the 'boys.

i try to watch as many games as possible but i admit i dont follow other teams like i do texas but i just cant remember a secondary like they had. anybody out there remember one better?(all opinions welcome and accepted)
